  1. If its extremely bad after de-accelerating down a hill, you could check you brake master cylinder, if your using fluid then its likely to be leaking out the rear seal and has filled your booster enough that its now sucking it back in. Or I'm not sure if these cars have a vacuum modulator fitted to the transmission, does it use some auto fluid? It wouldn't need to be much to create lots of white smoke. Engine oil usually has a blue colour to it, ATF and Brake fluid burn white, Brake fluid has a destinctive smell to it. Just a few ideas that wont do you any harm to check and cheaper than valve stem seals.
  2. We have the best wiper blades around, they are as I said in my previous posting on this subject, unbelievable. We will sell these blades with a 3 year warranty. Thats how good they are, there not in shops yet but you can buy them on-line. They retail for $20nz per pair plus freight and G.S.T. You will not be disappointed, I have had a close friend who has used the same pair for over 8 years and they still wipe perfectly, no squeeks or chatter. You can buy them from www.tyretown.com Or you can e-mail me; bruce@tyretown.com Cheers
  3. Hi peoples, I have a UZZ31 Limited. It was not optioned with the rear sub speaker, instead it had some air purification unit mounted under the back parcel shelf. That came out relatively easy and found an even easier fit into the jumbo bin. I've had a nice 10" sub mounted in the existing hole. What I need to know before I pull the whole interior of the car out is: Would anyone be able to tell me if the factory amp and wiring for the sub be in place even though it was not optioned? It has the EMV screen with surround sound option but no sub level adjustments. If the wiring and amp are non existant, where would I find the amps that power the existing rear speakers? Would I be able to take a signal feed from both L/R channels to a two channel bridgable amp to drive my sub? I had the CD stacker out and found an electronic box with millions of wires going to it, but no description as to what it was. I found the tuner unit hidden under the rear seat when I fitted band expanders to both the aerials, there exists two more boxes with a spagetti of wiring attached. I assume one is the radio tuner and the other the worthless NTSC Tv tuner. I would appreciate help on this as the stereo sound doesn't do the car justice. Although I have an awesome sound coming from the rear exhaust anyway. Want a throaty sound that burbbles "grunt" no matter what revs your pulling. I'll fill you in. :o :o :o :o ;)
  4. Are us peasants who own Toyota Soarer's, socially accepted by the Lexus owners clubs?
  5. I'm not sure what size your running, perhaps 215/40-17 or 215/45-17? After 14 years in the tyre and alignment industry, in my opinion. If you want value for money or bang 4 bucks! You can't go past the GT Radials HPZ. Quiet, good tread life and a fraction of the price of a Bridgestone, I'm running them in the 235/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear on my 2wd Rodeo Ute and as soon as I've smoked these Hankook's that my Soarer V8 had on when I brought it, HPZ's will be the first choice. I have heard nice things said about the Goodyear F1's from a customer driving a R33 GT-R with 400kw where the rubber meets the road. Personally I don't believe there has ever been a "good Goodyear". Well that's my opinion. Cheers
  6. I am trying to find any information about the factory stereo in my UZZ31 Soarer. It has the EMV screen fitted but was not optioned with the sub speaker in the back, instead it HAD an "air purification unit"[ Note I say it HAD, no room for sub with that in the boot] I've put band expanders on the radio tuner with no problems, but the stereo sounds so "whimpy" even without the sub, I would have thought it would have some balls to the sound. No matter how I set the graghic equalizer it always sounds "toppy" no bass. Is anyone aware if these cars are fitted with amplifiers from the factory? I'm going to fit all new JBL component speakers front and rear as well as a sub with small amp, but it be easier to know if any of these electonic boxes I have found under the front of back seat are amplifiers or the box under the CD changer. Actually, does anyone know what that bow is under the CD changer? Cheers
  7. I don't know if you are able to buy "Dura Edge" wiper blades in Australia, they are available in South Africa and will soon be available in New Zealand. These are the best wiper refills made ever. My fiends brother put some on his car 8 years ago, yes! 8 years ago and they still wipe like the day he fitted them. No squeeks or chattering. I couldn't believe this myself until I fitted some to my ute, now I have them on my Soarer V8 too. Only cost $20nz a pair with a 1 year warranty. ;)
