  1. Yeh I have diary records and the service history - but its all by phone. Have you ever tried to email or write to them? There's an onsite form for website feedback but no mailing address or email address. White pages has nothing. So to get printed records is impossible What really concerns me is what keeps blocking the filter? I can see that anything they've changed addresses that
  2. Now I'm pissed off. Got the car back after 2 and a half weeks to discover they've once again serviced the existing transmission.- According to the warranty invoice they've "removed transmission and replaced shift solenoids and filter. Cleaned valve body, Roadtested Vehicle,OK" This despite assurances from LexusAustralia public relations and Chatswood that the transmission would be replaced. The tranny on these things is a sealed unit which according to the service manual never has the fluid changed. Now I'm on my third filter and the only thing they've done additionally is replace the solenoids and clean the valve body. Anyone got a physical street address for Lexus? I'm tired of being BS'd to on the phone. The car is now out of warranty and I think I'm due a replacement transmission. What do you think?
  3. As I said in a previous post- I think is down to the individuals. I've found Lexus of Chatswood service brilliant- but after Newcastle anythings better. And they are owned by the same company
  4. Lexus of Chatswood have advised me that the car is getting a new transmission. The head mechanic there I have to say has been great- pressed my case and won. Lexus head office to be fair has also been good- accepted my position and agreed
  5. FYI Lexus of Chatswood & Lexus of Newcastle are the same company. They are owned by Phil McCarroll Motor Group. http://www.mccarrolls.com.au Yes I know that . However I've found that Chatswood service is far superior. Sometimes its the individuals that make the difference
  6. The problem is back. The car is just back from Chatswood Lexus and they are asking Lexus Australia for a new transmission. At the time of this post we are waiting for a response. The car is now just on 100K. Apparently the transmission is a sealed unit- ie- the fluid is supposed to last a lifetime. They've just had to flush it again and replace the filter. The dealer agrees this is not right which is why they've asked for a replacement unit So lets hope this is a one off. But for those of you approaching 100K check your transmission gear changing when cold. Any hesitation get it looked at pronto
  7. The auto transmission was not changing gears when stone cold in the morning- but the paddles worked. Because the engine is so quiet at first we thought it was sluggish and engine related. It was only when I had the window down one morning I heard the engine revving higher than normal(yeh I know I should watch the Tacho) I've recently moved from Lexus Newcastle to Lexus Chatswood for service. Newcastle were told but didn't fix it as part of that mind numbingly expensive service. Chatswood did- the transmission filter was partly blocked so that when cold it was struggling to build up enough pressure to change gears. Apparently this has happened in the US. Hope it helps someone
  8. Actually they are platinum plugs - and the price is not so bad- but why replace them so early? I had a camry with these years ago and they lasted 120K Still waiting on lexus australia - given up with the dealer- who is the only one in Newcastle
  9. No Timing belt change- (isn't the is250 chains?) Spark Plugs $366 rear pads $130 (I'm arguing this as the calipers were subject to a recall) Air filter, diff oil oil filter and oil and a whole lot of BS parts total over $800 labour $800 Yes I am shocked. really poor service. I've now spoken to the service manager and didn't even get an apology. All he said was the price was justified but refuses to tell me why. Lexus Australia are looking into it Sapphire Cam- be warned about the front rotors. One machining and thats it- I was quoted $1300 for rotors and pads. I used Kluger rotors- (exactly the same) and genuine pads- $750
  10. I've just been scalped $1673 for this service by Lexus of Newcastle. They also replaced the back pads in this price ($245) - despite the back brakes being subject to recall. The poor serviceman returned the car at 7pm at night and that was the first I knew I was up for a fortune - he copped it. No warning from the service manager it would be this much. The 4 warranty items I asked for were not done (broken drivers footrest, squeaky brakes, sluggish when cold and broken door seal) the second time this has happened. No contact from the service manager when I told the service man returning the car I was not happy. Gave him 24 hours and nothing. No paperwork for the 2 recall items. And not enough time in the day for them to have done what they've charged for Lexus Australia have been great. The Newcastle service manager contacted me after they contacted him but he did not offer any apology nor was he prepared to acknowledge any failing. He now says he told me it was a major service (he didn't) and that the parts needed for my warranty work had been ordered once they'd seen the car- despite me telling him about the parts needed two weeks prior. So I can't recommend them at all. And this price is extortionate - compare it to a merc or bmw and this is over the top. Be warned
  11. send me your PM to sales(nospam)@timeless(nospam).net.au remove(nospam). I have the pdf file
  12. Yep- I also have one in the drivers side pillar. It's almost like something rubbing together
  13. The IS250 has a space saver spare - and it looks like it's a really cheap steel nasty. Surprising when considering the finish of the rest of the car What Wheels said was lack of foot room. Leg room is ok- but there is little space under the (front) seats to place your feet. However you can raise the height of the front seats to allow more room - but only for shorter drivers. The space saver just makes more boot room
  14. Just picked up this car last week. JUst the base Prestige auto with no sat nav or ML stereo. The outside temp reading seems high and I'm wondering whether it is linked to the climate control. Climate control seems to be much cooler than indicated. It's a nice car - and was the end of a long search for a replacement to a Subaru 3.0R.
