  1. This is a bit late, but thanks anyway as this is exactly what I was looking for.
  2. Has anyone got the wiring you would need for the RCA preouts? I'd rather leave the stock speakers/amp in place.
  3. If you're going to buy new talk to the distributor about what you need in terms of offset for your rim width. A decent concave or dish will affect this a bit also, but the distributor will be able to do what you want or go somewhere else where someone can find what you want. I'm used to buying second hand in which case a wheel offset calculator helps, but if you're buying new then you don't have to worry about what fits and does not fit. In a perfect world they'll have the right wheel for you or build it. To be honest... Hella flush is hella crap... don't even worry about that. I used to be a fitment king myself... In the end if you want to make your car hella flush and want to upset the ride and handling of some of the best cars Lexus/Toyota have made then you're not particularly smart in my books. At the end of the day its about how your car drives not what it looks like. That doesn't mean I don't like nice wheels it means these days I like to do it properly.
  4. Yes, pretty much... If you use the subframe and wiring from an IS300 you wont go wrong.
  5. To do it legally you will have to be running 30 width tyres on 20inch rims then you have to figure in the offset. It's doable but you need to factor in all of the facts to do it legally. You need to find a set of wheels that will fit under your guards without fouling your brakes or rubbing on your guards. So offset is the key factor. How long is a piece of string? You need to look at the wheels you want and then figure whether they come in an offset that will actually fit in your guards without changing the way that your car drives and keeping an offset equivalency. Otherwise... you're just turning your car into a rubbish box.
  6. There was a guy for a while that would track a 1UZFE converted IS200 at QR in Queensland. To be honest unless you want stock power and an eight cylinder its easier to consider a JZ swap because you will end up with a platform that is easier to tune. But then how fast do you want to go? An SC400 will do 0-100 in 6.5 and 15second quarters out of the box and there's about 200kg difference in weight there you would be getting close to being under a 6second car. The things you need for a JZ swap are easy. You will need a set of IS300 cross members and possibly a sump from an IS300 depending on which engine you get. Then it depends what else you want to do. The 6speed fits behind the Altezza so that's self explanatory if you want a JZ160 what you need from an Altezza also, or if you want to leave it auto you can convert to the 5speed that sits behind the IS300. An IS300 loom should cover you for the loom that you need. It is easier to stick with a VVT-i engine though if you want to keep your car feature complete. The multiplexed ECU is one of the issues with this. Unless you've got a really good auto-electrician. You'll lose ac control which is the biggest problem for getting your car registered without a heater/demister. You will lose cruise control, ect, snow mode. You will also lose control of the lose abs/trc/vsc unless you get a vvti compatible ECU. If you're going standalone and don't need to worry about these features it's no big deal using either motor though. But pretty much, yeah... multiplexing sucks. It's modern cars though where for the sake of convenience manufacturers want to put everything in one loom.
  7. There are a number of locksmiths that can program Lexus keys. You just need to ask around. To be honest, if it were like my IS200 I'd just get another dumb key for emergency purposes.
  8. Its a random distribution. The sample size is probably the same as the rest of the IS distribution in Australia. The majority of people chose the automatic option. I spoke to the guy with number one in Melbourne, It's currently for sale and its also an auto.
  9. Almost nothing is directly interchangeable between the two engines that's how far they're apart. But if you want more info you're better off search toymods instead.
