  1. Hi all, looking for affordable rear tyres. No track, just road cruising and occasional mildly spirited driving if I find some curves. Have done some research, but user feedback is best. Happy for any suggestions, but cost is an issue. Some I am considering include (price high to low) kumho ps91 or 71 hankook h452 kenda kr400 davanti dx460. Also, should I get a wheel alignment at the same time? Front tyres are fine. Cheers
  2. morning all just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the different brands of tyres for standard 2014 IS300h Fsport rims. I currently have Bridgestone Potenza's on the car but not entirely happy with them, interested to hear your experience with other brands
  3. 4x works variabza ts1 wheels (19x10 5x114.3 offset +20) black Comes with 4x almost brand new toyo proxes4 tyres (265/30/19). Less than 100kms used. They are in excellent condition except for one wheel with a small scratch (refer to pic) They were purchased for use in car show and has hardly been driven on the road. The tyres alone are $500 each. Asking for $2000ono
  4. Well i had an exciting morning on the M5 about 5:30am. Drivers rear gave way, bit sideways then thump thump thump. Nursed her over to the breakdown emergency bay and saw the damage :-( Was planning to get new tyres soon, well that will have to be today now lol Ps Have done about 20000kms out of them, more than what i expected months ago Just hoping no rim damage but towie had a good look for me and suspects its ok as the inner part gave way but it was still riding on the tyre (kind of). Anyways will find out soon enough later today (fingers crossed)
  5. Hi all, I know there’s countless tyre threads already but haven’t seen a lot of responses that address my question. I’ll be getting tyres soon for the rears. Currently got aftermarket wheels so the rim is .5 inch wider at 9.5 vs. 9 for OEM. In light of that, when I got tyres almost 20k ago, I decided to stick to the OEM size at the time of 255/35. Now I want to go wider and the most popular size without going extreme or lipping the guards is 275/30. Most responses I’ve read, everyone talks about how much more aggressive it looks. This part doesn’t bother me, it looks aggressive with my new rims anyway but I’m deciding whether to go this size or 265/35 (still wider than OEM but basically more rubber, taller profile. My car is street driven only and is my daily ride so if I barely drove it or tracked it only, id go 275/30 no problem. Issue is around the suburbs, City, Parramatta, etc, some roads are crap. Some that I use every day, I brace myself for the bump so I’m worried if I go 30 profile, the car is basically riding on more rim and less tyre so I don’t want to buckle my rims. So basically just after people’s opinions who are either running 275/30 or 265/35 on 19 inch rims, daily rides as to what they find bearable on our roads. Is anyone running on 275/30 and find the ride ok over some of our crappy roads?
  6. Hey guys, I'm looking to invest $ on some new rims for my '08 IS250. I'm currently running OEM 16". I'm hoping to find some 17", or preferably some 18". Thing is, I know nothing about what I should be keeping an eye out for. Any tips and advice would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks.
  7. Up for sale is my set of Genuine 17" Lexus IS250 Sports Luxury Wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 Tyres Tyres have 90% tread remaining. Wheels has some gutter rash. http://www.michelin.com.au/Products-Services/Car-SUV-LT/passenger_car/Pilot_Sport_3.html Tyre Specs: 225/45/17 245/45/17 Tyres alone are worth $976!!! Selling for $650.
  8. Hi All, So the standard tyres in the IS350 have come up for replacement, I have been happy with the standard Dunlop SP Sport 2050 but at $450 a corner im looking for something a bit more cost effective, can anyone recommend what they are running? My priorities are a quiet tyre that is comfortable, long lasting and offers adequate grip/performance in that order. Alos I don't like how the 225/40/18 tyre size looks on the front rims, are there any issues running a 235/40/18 on the front on a car at standard height?
  9. OK, taking delivery of my IS300 on Saturday. I think it's the only car I've seen, certainly the only one I've driven, with 4 different tyres and 4 different tread patterns Looking to retian standard rims, so thinking of maybe Pirelli P7s or a Yokahama of some sort. What have people used, on standard 17 rims, and how have the tyres performed? I'll need to do this by Monday at the latest.
  10. Hey guys, I have 4 x 18" OEM Lexus IS250 'x' wheels for sale. No gutter rash, scuffs or marks. Wheels are in great condition. Near new Falken tyres 225/45/18 - 95% tread. Pick-up Brisbane region. $1400 neg.
  11. Hi all, i am thinking about changing my tyres. I was wondering if anyone has any experience in tyres that are good. I am thinking about Michelin Pilot Sports 3 or the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2? Does anyone ever owned one of these?
  12. I am looking at purchasing 4 new tyres for my IS250 and I am interested to hear from others what has been selected. I am leaning towards the Pirelli Pzero Roso and was also wondering if anyone had tried these. Thanks in advance.
