Hi,

I have a very slight engine idle wobble that can be felt through the cabin of my recently purchased '05 LS430. I have trawled through the forums looking for similar queries but couldn't really find any consistent with mine - apologies in advance if I missed a relevant post!

Thus, my question is: do any other ls430 owners have this same slight engine idle wobble?

As I am new to this vehicle, I don't know whether this is a characteristic of the engine or an issue I should investigate.

Many thanks to anyone who can offer any insight.

Notes:

- eng temp has no particular bearing on the wobble

- vehicle is in good condition with 60,000kms, and has been regularly serviced

- vehicle passed RACQ inspection with no comments on eng or g/b mounts etc..although;

- inspector noted that no "plug-in" engine diagnostics were performed during the inspection

- vehicle runs smoothly otherwise

- have not yet tested spark plugs

Hi there,

You shouldn't be able to feel anything when at idle.

It should almost like the car hasn't yet started!

The only way you can tell is by checking the rev counter!!

Do you have a good Lexus dealer nearby? They should be able to diagnose.

Mine is a 2005 too, wonderful cars with a soul.

I had one in the UK for 4 years, nothing went wrong. Missed it like crazy when I sold it to move to NZ, so bought another one which is now loved up!!

Is your sat nav working?

I would guess you would need to buy a new DVD to get your sat nav working if the car is not NZ new. Around $500 from dealer.

Check the plugs they should be NGK Iridiums ( good for 100K) other plugs have been known to cause running problems.
