Liftgate motor/regulator question

Hi peeps,

I am currently sourcing a new liftgate motor, part code: 68910 and was wondering if the motors from different years of the same gen are interchangeable?

I have a 2010 model and the part number for my year is 6891048023, however I can only source part number 6891048030 and 6891048032 from 2012 and 2013 respectively.

I assumed the parts were all interchangeable however the parts manager at my local wreckers assured me they won't work with one another.
