Hi all,

Newbie here... greetings to all.

I enjoyed reading the posts, especially the one on 'programming a new key'... (have to investigate this soon)

What I'd like to ask other IS200 drivers is if I had to change the car battery, could it be done without using the Remote FOB key (i.e. with alarm on/off, immobiliser on/off)?

I am afraid when i go to change the dying car battery it is going to cause a lot of headaches i.e. set the alarm siren and/immobiliser the engine.

Curently I am using the valet key as one of the remote fobs is broken (will have to buy new blank key and try programming instructions) and other Remote key FOB is lost.

If someone can confirm I can simply take the car battery out, replace it without any issues I'd greatly appreciate it. **would be a lot cheaper then taking it to a dealer **.

Thanks in advance...

p.s. any recommendations on a solid car battery to use?
