OK i have done some research. One should pay no more than $700 for a new set of front rotors inc pads.
If anyone out there ever has to replace their rotors, then the best option is to go with RDA slotted or DBA brakes. Most shops will be happy to recommend them.
ECB red pads were also recommended, but you can't get them in Aust.
cant get Bendix either.
The only pads that fit the lexus make is ones made by TWS.
Anywayz, im going to try OEM brake pads with RDA slotted rotors.
Wish me luck......
Hey GuysJust wondering if anyone can recommend a good set of replacement disc rotors for the is250?
The dealer quoted me 1500AUD to replace (front only) which i found to be quite amusing
Naturally i told them to f**k off (politely)
So far all the brands i know off are dba and rda..but im sure there are more out there which I have no idea of..
Any help or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hey sPy,
That is a ripped off. I had mine front disc rotors replaced recently with a new brake pad including labour and they quote me for $800. This was down at the Lexus of Perth. I really like the OEM disc rotors and brake pad because they offer a really good brake when applying a sudden stop.
There are a few rotars out there and very pricey.

ON THIS TOPIC i BOUGHT TJE KIT FROM XDLIGHTS
http://www.xtralights.com/?gclid=CPP31OmCjIkCFQRDYwodaU80AQ
They are Japanese made and offer 2 yrs warranty.
I bargained with them for the price so it was a good deal in the end.
If you dont know how to install it, you can always get it installed for 100$ approx.
FYI
4300: same as factory and is the brightest.
6K : Blue tint and not as bright

Thanks for your help Kinj. Great info.
I know the dealer reasonably well and got a solid price for the car. But he did say Lexus will bring in the 18" wheels next year. So instead of them being replacement parts, they become optional upgrades. How much is Sydney offering them as an upgrade? Do you know what offset the 18 wheels run off?
( I am assuming you bought new 18 inch wheels =0 )

Hi Spy-007,This aussie forum is basically dead with not a lot of people posting anymore. You're best off checking out international forums instead.
Basically, there are some great DIY guides out there that show you how do it:

If you are new to the 2nd Generation IS (or 2IS) here is a great starting point:

Lastly, it would appear that the updated 2007 IS250 will allow buyers the choice of HID's, and Lexus in Sydney have recently offered 18 inch wheels as an option (it wasn't an option when I bought in March). How much does that suck!!

Hey fellas,
Got a prestige but as we all know it, halogen lights are no where as good as HID!
Has anyone tried putting HID Xeon lights on the car? If so where did you get the conversion kit and for how much?
Thinking it of doing it myself but not sure if its that simple like plug and play =P
Any thoughts? I live in Sydney.
