    http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t69/stan1688/DSC01863.jpg

    fronts 19"x235x35, rears 19"x275x30

tyres are kuhmo ecsta, no issues with rubbing, only had them for 2,000km so there is 90% tread left. left rims have small scratches. Asking $2,200. PM if you are interested. got the mag wheel nuts and lock nuts with it as well.

Why are you selling the rims?..do you want to downgrade back to 18"'s ?

  2. That's ashame cos i think this wheels would suit our cars nicely.

I would triple check to see if it's possible cos they're only 18s. Ask if you can just put the rim on (without tires) and see if there is any chance of it fitting.

My financial department is closed at the moment (unfortunately) and i'm not sure when it will be open again, so i guess it's up to you to REALLY research this.

    I specifically asked about the 18" s

I ended up bying SSW Nirvana 18"s for my black lexus..nice wheels but they have a low offset which means they sit inside the wheel well a little too far for my liking..doesn't make the car look cool..they still look like the 16" 'Granny' wheels that come with the car....shame....I am considering trading them in but am waiting until there is more aftermarket supply...the OEM's are way too expensive

  3. I got quoted $1899 at BeaueRepairs for the CSA Dominator 18s package. Does anyone know if it;s a good price and what sorta tyres does BeaueRepairs give to go with the wheels?

The wheels looks exactly like this and my car is silver too ...

    2.jpg

Sorry to tell you but the CSA Dominators won't fit mate...wrong offset...I have a black is250, had EXACTLY the same idea and was devastated when I was told they won't fit the car...I got the same response from the 10 or so dealers I rang just to make sure ( Beaurepairs, Bob Jane, King Tyres, Bridgestone etc..)

I hear the choice of wheels is still very limited for the is250..well it was when I bought mine on October 06 anyway...If you are lucky there will now be more aftermarket kits available...FYI, one of the other owners bought an OEM set from the US on ebay and said they were awesome..

Good luck and let me know if you but the Dominators and they DO FIT..becuase I will buy a set straight away!

  4. Does anyone know if wheel spacers are available for the is250 in Australia?

I saw some on ebay (USA), but when I googled it I read an artcile stating that wheel spacers are only allowed in NSW if they are OEM....can anyone confirm this ?

I also saw some great alloy rims on ebay.com...has anyone purchased a set from the US, and if so, which ones were they, who did you but them from and what was the experience like? ( I am afraid the rims won't arrive or if they do, will be nothing like I expect or won't fit etc..)

    Cheers

  5. Like most of you I have had several issues with my is250

It's been back to the dealer twice to fix a squeeky seat..which by the way, the service manager said was comon with the is250..

Recently my moonroof has started squeeking and there is a slight rattle coming from the passenger side of the car..I can't locate it and it is driving me crazy./..

Pretty disappointing considering the price of the car and the amount of competition out there..I could have purchased a beemer, merc, audi, alfa or saab for approximately the same money..I hope I don;t regret buying the is250.

  6. Guys,

Glad to see some of youhave picked up some cool rims....hey weren't around when I bought mine in October 06 (I looked far and wide)..

I have Stamford Nirvana 225/40 18" rims on my is250 (black on black) but unfortunately they still look like granny wheels..I have been told it relates to the offset....can anyone tell me what offset I should be looking for to make the rims follow the contour of the car..ie 'stick out' ?..my rims fit inside the wheel well quite a way and they don't look like 18"'s at all.....so question is, does a higher positive offset mean the rim and tyre will stick out ?... I have been on the us ebay site and seen wheels with a 50 offset..is this better than a 45 or 40 (which I am told is ideal for the lexus?)

  7. It looks alot like this to me, and it looks good on the biummer.

    imsswnirvana125x150bw7.jpg

    5250278.jpg

    Hi mate,

I have the SSW Nirvana 18" rims on my black is250..the tyres are 225/40 R18 (Yokohama Advan...lovely tyre) front and back..I did this on purpose so that I can rotate the tyres every 8,000 km's all round instead of only being able to rotate front to front and back to back (saves tyre wear and $$$)

Only thing I warn you about is that the offset on the Nirvana rims are high, which means they dont stick out wide and follow the contour of the car wheel arch..they actually sit a fair way inside the wheel arch and there is plenty of daylight between tyre and car body.....as a result they look (unfortunately), like granny wheels, and do not look liek they are 18" rims...my friends all swear blind that they aren't 18" becuase they look so small...the shot of the bimmer you posted shows the tyres fitting the wheel well very make the car look mean, just as they should!!..I can assure you that your Nirvana rims won't do the same...if you really like the Nirvana rims, which by the way are really nice, I sugest you try to get 19" alloys if they have them

  8. How much did you pay for the wheels and tyres?

The dealer told me that only a couple of tyre makers (Brands) have the specs that would fit the lexus 18s. True or false?

The mags and tyres were thrown in when i did the deal :)

My car has 18 x 7.5 (225/40) SSW Nirvana Alloys and Yokohama tyres..like Palms, I negotiated a reduction in price to accomodate the tyres..the tyres/rim package was approx $2,400

  9. Did you take note fo the lent Is250? Any differences to your one?

As for extra oil. Do you do your own oil change or something?

Hi guys, funny you mention the quality issue as I just posted the very same comment in another section (what 18" for the is250)...I've had my is250 for 2 months and had the squeaky driver seat like some of you. .my moon roof also refused to close yesterday..I took the car to Lexus and they fixed the problems straight away but I was told the moonroof closing issue was quite common for the is250..aparently it a voltage/memory issue...

For those of you who experience the moonroof that won't close (why can't they just call it a sunroof?), you fix it by rotating the moonroof dial to the 'close' position and press it for 25-30 seconds..the roof will eventually trigger by opening all the way, then closing all the way..fixed ! (as told by the Lexus technician to fixed mine)

  10. ok guys i am back with the latest.

The car is almost fixed, after almost 2 months of getting the car all it needs a small detail to get some swirls out then its should be 100%.

With my issue with the tyres rubbing, i quoted i had 225/40 all round but made a mistake, i had 235/40's. This is what was making the tryes rub in the front so i had some 225/40's put on the front and problems fixed. The chart below is of the sports is250 with it's dimentions, as you can see there are different sizes so having 18's is not an issue with the prestige. I only got 18x8's not a mix like in the chart. I took it for a drive up the f3 and boy this car really sits well on the road and great for overtaking when you need to moved in a hurry.

Great looking wheels Palms..glad that you're back on the road.!......I am uploading some photos of my is250 setup to post in the next few days and will be keen to see what yuou think of my wheels

I also had a few issues with my is250 of late, although not as bad (not even close) as yours: (1) my drivers seat was qsueaking like crazy every time I went around a corner (2) the sunroof would not close.....they were both fixed by Lexus very quickly but it suprised me that they happened in the first place, given the apparent quality of build in the brand.

For those of you who might experience the sunroof problem (which Lexus have told me is quite common with the is250), all you need to do is rotate the sunroof dial to 'close' position then press for at least 25-30 seconds..the sunroof will eventually trigger and reset itself by opening then closing all the way...apparently it is a low voltage issue that causes the chip to lose memory, hence the roof forgets how to close !!

  11. Does anyone know if the is250 can be lowered?..if so, which springs are compatible (I was told Pedders springs aren't)..also, is the is250 Sports lower than the Prestige?..if so , by how much?...

My questions come from the fact that I have 18" alloys on my black is250 Prestige with Yokohama ADVAN 103's 225/40's (lovely tyres by the way), but they STILL look like Nanna's wheels..On the other hand, I've seen other 250's driving around with 18"'s and they look awesome,.,.the wheels are flush with the body and make the car look very mean..I am wondering whether this is due to the wheel package (lower offset etc), they have lowered their suspension or if the is250 Sports pack is installed..any feedback would be appreciated.

  12. Just to add to this frustrating issue, I have taken the car back to find out that they will get the dent fixed, fix the rubber which is not an issue but with the paint issue on the boot they tried to get me pay half of the detailing, mind you I asked for a guy who knows his stuff, remember the car not been detailed so I wanted it done right as it should have in the first place. I said a big no way of paying half and could’nt believe they have the nerve to ask, they would not budge so we agreed on their detailer, I was thinking lets give them a chance. Well guess what, when I asked the detailer the type of buffer he was going to use he looked at me like he had no idea what I was on about so I started to panic inside, I showed him the area of concern and he said I can't fix that, so off we went back the manager and he rang the guy I asked for in the first place and said this will come out of his pocket, like hello so it should. Did I do something wrong in a past life god, if so im sorry ok leave me alone 

    palms

    Palms,

Clearly you have p~ssed off the Lexus gods! You need to go out and steal the badge off a 3 series BMW and then burn it as an offering!!

I agree!...but thanks for your feedback anyway Palms.. I would be interested in seeing a few more photos of your wheels if you have some..I saw a few on this site previously but I can't find them again.

Also, I think my issue could be the offset..which is 45+ on my SSW Nirvana's..I was told that 40+ offset wil be fine, and if so, the wheels would sit almost flush with the car body. (my wheels sit inside the fender because of the offset)..any thoughts guys ?

PS, if you are wondering what I am doing posting on Christmas Day...we were due to go to a big BBQ but my wife fell ill, so I am sitting at home drinking wine and feeling pretty sorry for myself...hope you're all enjoying yourselves..Merry christmas

  13. Hi ozis250,

Yep, I was aware of the 225 max width on the tyre, but there are so few choices out there at the moment in terms of campatible rims, and to be honest, some of the ones that do fit look absolutely shocking and given a choice you would almost leave the 16" granny wheels that come with the car..!

The minimum offset I've been told is suitable for the car is +40 depending on the rim..you might be ok with your OZ Racing rims but I would check around just to be sure because I've been getting so many conflicting reports.....however everyone agrees that +45 offset is the correct one for the is250, so that is the offset that I've been quoting when checking out rims..

The offset for the SSW Nirvana and Advanti Fluid are both +45...I tried to get the Advanti Karla's like Palms has posted previously but some places even refused to quote me on them because they said there is no way they are compatible unless you 'roll' the guards back to make them fit...which wasn't an option for me....I think this explains why Palm's wheels rub when you turn full lock and go down driveways etc?

I am getting 225/40 R18 Bridgestone G3's on my car for performance, low road noise, durability and handling...another good reason I chose them is that the Bridgestone Tyre centre where I am buying them will rotate and balance the tyres FREE OF CHARGE every 8,000km for the life of the tyre..pretty enticing deal....I hear the G3's look awesome with the SSW Nirvana....which by the way, looks very much like the new wheels on the 07 Subaru GT-R..

What ytpe of is250 did you order ?

I ordered the Prestige with Sunroof, tint and rear sensors in Granite. I didn't bother with the enhancement pack.

    ozis250,

Rear sensors on the Prestige? Is that an option?

I havent had any of the dealers in Sydney tell me about that.

Ordered an is250 Prestige with 18" Lexus Mutispoke Wheels on Wednesday.

Would love to get Rear sensors if possible, the car looks to be difficult to reverse into a tight spot due to limited rearward view. How much are they?

Yep, Lexus of Chatswood offer rear sensors as option. For $600. But becareful as it's not the fully integrated sensors where you see the car display on the dash. It's just the beeping sound with no display. Very disappointing.

Anyway got my new car for 5 weeks now. Running 18" OZ turrismo rims with +40 Offset on 235/40r18 Dunlop D101s. No rubbing at all! Car handles significantly better when cornering (less body roll) and hardly any detriment to ride quality, only very slight more bumpy than the standard 16". Actually for the better and you feel the road and the steering seems have more feel too.

    Hi guys,

Question for all who have purchased after market 18" alloys..

    (1) how is the clearance between the wheel and front panel on yoru car ?..I have 18" SSW Nirvana alloys with Yokohama 103 Advan tyres (225/40), and there seems to be much too much daylight between both ! (about 4 inches+)...Palms, I saw your photos and it looks like the wheels sit really snug in the wheel well..I have also seen other IS250's with 18" alloys on the road and they too look great..I don't what is it with my alloys...I rang the insurer (VERO) but they won't alloyw the springs to be replaced in order to lower the body slightly. this can be done for $550 fully installed using Pedders springs)

    (2) Does anyone know whether the sport suspension pack lowers the body or simply makes it a firmer ride ?...the specs on the LExus site seems to show that it doesn't lower the body...I rang Lexus but (suprisingly) they don't seem to know the answer !

hope someone replies because as much as I love my black IS250, the 18"'s still look like granny wheels and it is killing me !!

  14. I like these tips, thanks for taking the time to post.

    I have a ?

I still don't understand why when i open the drivers side door to get in no other door opens, my passengers have to wait until i get in the car to open it manual from the inside, anyone got a tip?

    palms

Look on page 10 or so of the car user manual..very easy to do..I did it yesterday

while the car is turned off..on your remote keypad ..Hold the unlock button, then press the lock button for 5 seconds..your centre console will flash with an image of the car with all doors open...done

  15. Mm good point. I'm expecting delivery of my is250 Prestige on the 20th December - been waiting a month already... I might give him a call and try to push for the newer one...

I think I will go with the Genuine Lexus ISP 18inch - comes in annodised metal (slightly darker)

    Hi guys,

I picked up my black is250 last week..ordered it in August,

it has 18 inch Nirvana alloys on it (also ionised/shadow)...drives great and looks great..I will try to download a few photos

  16. Hi Carro Loco!

This is Kevin, i don't think there is any clear light protectors are available for the is250 because i do also own one (sport package). The only thing that you can buy from http://www.aerotect.net is clear or colour bra M3 film and stick them on your light. The company based in USA, but i believe thats they will ship to Australia. You can also buy a clear or blue film for your head light and fog light. Do you know the (http://www.clublexus.com)? this is where i search for everything about our car.

    Thanks for the info Lexxy.

I didn't know about the clublexus

    I'll have a look now

    Cheers

  17. Hi Newbie,

I'm the same mate, my black is250 arrives in Octber again.

You're right about the specs..they are the ones I've been giving all the wheel retailers like Bridgestone, BobJanes, Spin City, Beaurepaires etc..I've also spoken directly to the distributors who have confirmed that because the car is so new, and the offset is so high, that there are very few wheels at the moment to suit...but I did find another wheel, which I think looks great ..it is the SSW Nirvana and comes in 18 x 7.5.

go to www.stamfordwheels.com under 'products', then 'passenger' to check it out..I am deciding between it and the Advanti Fluid that I posted earlier...both are the same price. you can pick them up with Bridgestone G3's for $2,400 package, which I think is pretty good...in addition most of them wil give you approx $100 for each of your 215/55 R16's tyres that come with the car, but I'm yet to have anyone agree to trade in the rims..

    Hi Carro Loco,

Both wheels look great. Hard to decide. It's good that you found a place to trade the original tyres in particularly for $100 each....some money is better than nothing.

What are the offsets of the Avanti and SSW wheels you're getting? So did any of the wheel shops say a what minimum offset will be alright?

In terms of wheels I've ordered OZ Racing Superturismo 18x8" +40mm offset On a set of 235/40 r18 Dunlop Direzza. Should arrive within the next 3 weeks.....just in time for the car.

Also not sure if you're aware but just in case you're not, If you get a 18x7.5inch wide rim like the sets you're lookin at, you're restricted to a max. 225 width tire.

    ozis250.

  18. Hi All,

I'm a newbie and just purchased an is250 but have to wait till early Oct for delivery. However here are some specs you maybe interested in.

    Stock Lexus 18"

    Front: Tyres 225/40 r18 Rims: 18x8" Offset +45mm

    Rear: Tyres 255/40 r18 Rims: 18x8.5" Offset +50mm

I've had some experience in fitting aftermarket wheels to my previous cars. The fundamental thing to get correct to avoid wheel rubbing is to get the wheel offset correct. Then the next step is the Width of the Wheel which subsequently determines the Max width of the tyre.

I've already ordered 235/40 r18 tyres and 18x8" +40mm offset alloys for my car, so when I get my car and fit them on, i'll let everyone know whether there's any rubbing. If there is, then avoid +40mm offset, but I'm fairly confident that there shouldn't be.

A rule of thumb is to always stick close to the original manufacturer offset specs.

    Hi Newbie,

  19. Carro Loco

I have not resolved this issue just yet, i have a paint issue with my car and will be getting a new car in November so until then i guess the wheels rubbing issue has to stay until then. Yes it does rub when turning going forward or reverse in out off a drive way or when going down a steep road or driveway whilst turning at almost full lock. It sounds like it's just touching the plastic inside the wheel arch, i would have to take the wheel off to see where it is rubbing to tell you and yes i have 18's all round and i know the sports luxury has 18's as well so it must be rubbing on those as well. It would be good to hear from people that recieved the car with the stock 18's on their car ie sports luxury. Maybe after market wheels are the issue, i know when i first spoke to the service centre at chatswood they said some people have had the same thing and they fixed it, what they did i don't know. Sorry that's all i have.

    palms

    Thanks Palms,

Interesting issu with your paintwork..plase kep us informed..

In terms of the rims, I've spoke to YHI, who distribute them, and am getting conflictng reports..one guy says he's fitted them and they look superb, while another says that they won't fit because of the high offset!

Apparently the Advanti Racing FLUID rims will it because they are 18 x 7.5, which gives you that little bit more clearance between the tyre andwheel arch..only thing is that the fluids don't look anywhere near as good as the KARLA's..here's a link to them, what do you think ?

  20. Hey Palm,

Could you get a close-up shot of the rear wheel. I am interested to see the difference it makes.

I’ve got the same car and also thinking of putting the 18”s.

    Cheers

I took a beter pic for you, this is after i did a complete detail from start. I didn't get the tyres completed but they are cleaner than they were.

I am doing a new post how and what i used to get this looking as it is.

Please note that i am finding that the tyers are hitting somewhere in the wheel wall when turning at a tight angle. I have read on the USA forums that this only happened to the AWD version over there but it looks like it's happening when 18's are put on instead of the original 16's. I am getting a second delivery this weekend/checkup for those asking what i mean and will ask what can be done. It's not like they are not for the car as the sports and sports luxury have 18's as standard.

  21. Hi gang,

can anyone let me know what 18x8" alloys they are aware of to suit my IS250 Prestige (I love my car but goddamn I hate those "cardigan" 16's) I believe the stud pattern is the same as the IS200/300 but the offset is different.

    cheers

whoops .... I should have added, Im in Melbourne, Oz

Have a look at your Lexus service centre, my one in chatswood has several sizes on display for the car. I have picked some 18"spider rims from CTW for my prestige is250. These were the best they had on display so i went for them, much better than those ugly 16"s on the prestige

    Hi guys,

I've ordered the IS250 Prestige in black on black leather..I am also getting 18x8 on them ( I agree with the granny wheels comment)...has anyone seen or have the ROH Vapor 18 inch rims?..apart from the CSA Dominator they seem the next closest thing th the original factory 18x 8...but alomst $5k cheaper!
