Hi Chest, In answer to your Q, you need to clear SRS codes, to do this ! disconect the ground terminal to the battery then reconact it after about 10 seconds, this should clear up some of your probs,
The ecu Computor, needs to relearn ,For Auto s,start engine in P/N,posi warm up motor until cooling fan cycles, accelerate normal throttle until it shifts into top deacelerate to a stop, allowing to down shift you wil need to repeat this many times . hope this has been some help, regads .
Hey Mal,
To relearn the ecu. When you warm up the motor do you do this stationary? And does it matter how long after you warm up before you start the cycles? Like can I warm up at home and then drive 3 or 4 K to a long road and start the cycling. Are there any articles about this anywhere. Thanks for your help.

Hey Everyone,
Does anyone know where you can buy a Front Upper Control Arm kit for a LS400 1990 for a reasonable price? My local Lexus of Perth shop is claiming $1200 just for the part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Oliver
Try overseas. I'm told that Glenn Tull at ebayprofessor@yahoo.com is very cheap on Celsior/Lexus parts. He looks after a lot of people over here and is quick. I think he is in Canada.

I got the 2 manuals off eBay for I think US$79 plus about US$30 postage. Took a few weeks to get here by seamail but it was worth it. If your interested Ken at ktodd@frontiernet.net was the seller and he seems to auction a lot of manuals.

I want to replace the badges on my 90 Celsior with Lexus badges. Does anyone know of a good place to get these and at a reasonable price. I've seen them on eBay but not sure of the quality. I don't want to buy something that looks lousy in a couple of months.

Could someone load me an Owner's Manual and an Operator's Guide for a 1990 (or close year) LS400? I have a Celsior and the manuals are in Japanese of course so would like to photocopy the originals. I will pay postage costs and an extra fee if that is required.

I have brought in a 1990 Celsior from Japan. It came with 18" wheels with new Yokahama 235/40 R18's on the front. As part of the roadworthy I put Firenza 265/35 ZR18's on the rear. I think the 18's take the edge off the ride so I would like to go back to probably 16's or maybe 17's.
Would anyone be interested in swapping wheels and tyres? The tyres would have to be brand new. If you are interested then PM me and I will take some photos. The rims are Wald's.
I live in Werribee South in Victoria.
Bob
Edit 14/11/06
I would probably swap for 15's if the mags were nice but I wouldn't go back to original rims.

Lowering will depend on the type of suspension. Do you have air struts?
If you look thru the forums you will find that many owners say that 20" wheels are very bad for the suspension. Part of the suspension is the rubber in the tyre so when you reduce it drastically you put a lot more load on the rest of the suspension. This probably applies more to air suspension. Also check out regulations in your state. Some states wont allow you to go to 20".
Will be interested to hear how your exhaust mods go. I would like to do mine but am worried that it will ruin the quiet ride.
