  1. Hi Everyone,

My car got badged a few months ago and then I thought I would replace it with a geniune altezza emblem like they have in Japan. Bought one and tried to fit, however the clips are different to the local grill (IS200). Looks like it fits with other models that have slightly different grill from japan? I believe its for the Front Grill JDM.

Anycase, if you would like this addition, give me a message.

    Selling for $50

  2. Hi Guys,

I've had my IS200 Caliente for 2 years now and starting to have minor wear and tear problems.

1.) Front left fog light needs to be replaced.

2.) Wiper blades need to be replaced

3.) Warning indicator of rear lights burnt out, although I checked and couldn't see any problems.

    My questions, is

1.) Where can I buy another fog light bulk and not get charged an arm and leg.

2.) What blades do people recommend. Seen blades that basically look like the new frameless blades

3.) Again, more bulk replacements for the rear lights.

Your thoughts and connections to these parts would be appreciated.

    :)

  3. All,

To conclude the drama, after getting the key back from the UK and easily registering the key with the immoboliser and NOT successfully being able to program the doors, (most likely due to different frequency), I took it to lexus again and they tried to clone it again and it didn't work again.

So in conclusion, the key from UK won't work with the door as they must use a different frequency.. (WTF) but can be programmed with the immobiliser. So it can be used, however it will never be another master key!. So if you lose your original key, this spare will be able to open the doors, (manually) start the car etc, however you won't be able to ever program another master key.

All in all, unfortunately it wasn't worth getting the key (as I paid a premium thinking I was getting the whole master key). Otherwise, you can purchase a second hand lexus key (from australia) from someone, then buy a new blade and case off ebay for cheaply and then program it.

  4. All,

I got my key back. This time it successfully programmed with my immobiliser in my car and so can start the car. Likewise with hawk77 I've tried a number of times to get the key to recognise the ECU (hence lock/unlock/boot) but to no avail. I'll try a few more time before going back to the dealership. If it works with starting the car, I'm sure that they will be able to clone onto it.

  5. All,

I just got my car serviced at my local Lexus service. Now I have driven the car to about 550 with mostly suburb and city driving and like to accelerate to speed quickly. (not lead footed). The fuel indicator now is just about on the bottom bar and my red light has come on!..

I can only assume they some how fixed it? I find it hard to believe as there isn't much they could have done. Besides flushing out the fuel system, which I didn't ask them to do, miraculously it works now. I've had the car for a year and never have got it to come on. I'll fill up tonight to see how much is still left in the tank. Previously I got too scared, (no light) and had to fill up to around 55-57 litres. Now the red light is on, I wonder how much is left in the tank. (have driven around 10-15K's with it on).

  6. Thanks Hawk77,

I've sent my key back to UK. I suspect my key was dodgy as the boot button had been worn already! (plus the lexus service guys couldn't even clone my master on to it)

It sounds very strange that you have programmed the key to start your car but can't program it with the doors? What happens when you try to program the doors?

  7. All,

I decided to got to the dealership. They tried to program the key using the copying machine they have. (transponder-to-transponder). This didn't even work!!

As you know I purchased my key from ebay (UK) and it has denso CE0123 on the back and it doesn't work!

Either the UK just have a totally different frequency to that of australian ECU? (which sounds strange because the cars should all be made in japan), or that my key has an incorrect transponder in it. (my open boot lid car icon was faded in the middle indicating it wasn't new. however the lock and unlock, looked brand new).

So I'm suspecting there could be something dodgey with my key. Has anyone had success with these Denso keys from the UK?

  8. I'ved tried both methods and it didn't work. The guy that I bought the key from has just sent me what looks like actual scans from a Toyota manual for programming the keys. SWEEET. I'll have a look at them tonight. Will let you know if its very different or not.

guys from lexus service gave me follow up call to check how my car is. I asked them if they could program it and they said they could probably do it for free... but I like to do things myself.. because I can ;-).. Worst case I'll just go and ask them.

  9. Hi,

I've got the key cut and I've tried programming it. I bought it from the UK. Followed the steps to program the doors etc, everything goes as according to the instructions, however it doesn't seem to finish or program. (ie, holding the lock button and unlock button on the new key). I've tried a few times and it doesn't seem to work. Note: The doors don't continue to cycle lock/unlock?

LEX5IS, did it pick up your new key right away?

Also tried programing the chip so it would start the car. Also followed the instructions to a T and it just doesn't program the key (ie, the blinking security light just continues to blink for 3minutes, where by I then give up.)

I'm going to try and delete option. Maybe the ECU has already a full number of programed keys on it.

  10. Hi,

Yeah, also bought mine from UK. I think the US keys look different and have a panic button.

I'm quietly confident that it'll work.. Can't wait. Hawk77, you should give it a go. It can't stuff up your keys.

Worst is that it doesn't successfully program your new key.

(Dealership may even charge only a small price, now that you have the keys, if your not confident)

  11. Hi,

If your concerned that you'll lose the use of your master key (with your new IS200), do the deletion instructions first so that the ECU only registers your master key in the memory. I think it can add on another 3 with no problems. At no point should your original master key stop working so it should be all good.

    Good luck

  12. Hi LEX51S,

    I'm bidding on ebay now.

As for you, I think you can simply program your transponder with your new IS200. There are a few empty shells you can get if you already have the transponder as well.

I think the ECU of your car just needs to identify your transponder so when you use it, it'll work with the car.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

  13. I'm sure it has the premium sound system installed. Like I said, at a low sound level, there isn't much base range, but when you crank it up to a louder level, it does come through. I'm comparing from experiences in other (less premium cars) e.g Honda Euro and even Holden.

I'm hoping it isn't due to cracked/blown speakers. I checked and didn't see any noticable cracks (if its that obvious). I must say I did have an accident and when the repair guys returned the car they had the volume on MAX!!. (I had to return the car a number of times for this and that, so I think I pissed them off), and when I turned on the system, I saw it was on max and within a split second I quickly turned it down with only a verrrry short burst of loud sound. I'm hoping that split second of sound didn't F@# up my speakers.

With blown speakers I think they usually crackle alot or not even work, but I don't have any of these issues... guess I'll just need to turn the volume up a little more ;-)
