ahh yeah... didn't realise about the compliance plate!
nice to see it just screwed on!! Dodgy Lexus hey!!!
-
maybe post some pics?!
would prob help your cause... assuming you are allowed to advertise those services here (I'm new too, so don't know all the rules yet)
-
Okinawa hey...
they're a nice cruisy car... hope you enjoy it.
Did you put the Lexus badges on??
The Altezza ones are much better imo.

Photos please of the VIN and Compliance Plates, InstrumentCluster, underneath from the rear, underneath from the front and all wheels. Thanks.
It's an Aussie delivered LS400, not a Celisor... wouldn't that mean no compliance plate?
-
yes the LS400 sus will fit straight in...
though you might want to remove compressor and lines etc, but I'm not sure how that will affect things.

maybe the glass isn't as thick?!
being non genuine, it is quite likely the case

I suggest you return the car to standard before you bring it over and bring all the mod parts you have. but however to get the car fully complied and on the road may take up to 6 months after the car arrives off the boat. good luck :) where you moving to?
Where'd you get this info??
This car can only be brought over as a personal import, and as the original poster is aware, must be owned for min 12 months before it can be brought over.
Personal imports DO NOT go through the same process as raws imports hence no need to change back to standard and get the full compliance job done.
However, you will still need to make sure the car is roadworthy, and still meets applicable ADR's for that age car.
Please make sure you gather all the relevant info before applying for your import approval too, as DOTARS will not like if you have to keep adding info to approve the car.
Give the all the info once, and do it right first time.
Check the DOTARS website for particular details about the rules and info they need.
Hope this helps.

yes yes... I know I'm stupid.
I totally forgot to turn the switch in the boot off when jacking the car up...
we changed the water pump and timing belt etc... and that all went fine.
just now the front wont jack up.
The air struts are practically brand new (under 5000km), so I know they aren't dead.
I have tried d/c the battery, turning the boot switch off/on again, jacking the car up again, and combinations of these, but absolutely no difference.
The ass is hanging in the air, and the nose is sniffing the ground.
I thought d/c the battery might help reset the computer and or sensors, but this obviously didn't work.
Lexus were no help either, as they don't have experience with airsus.
Any ideas would be really helpful.

Beau
Importing An Altezza To Australia?
in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club

Mark,
besides race/rally as ant has mentioned, it can only be done as a personal import.
As you sort of mentioned, you would have to own the car in Japan, and be in Japan for 12 months with proof of ownership/insurance/rego etc all in your name.
So it can be done, but it is a very long and costly exercise. Just depends how much you really want the car.
If you want more particluar information let me know.
Cheers,
Beau
