    Hi there,

Before you attempt to take the DVD driver out, please ensure the eject button does not work.

    Regards,

    Ricky

    Hi there,

    Steps:

    1. take out the floor board of the boot

    2. take out the plastic trays underneath the floor

    3. remove the whole DVD driver out from the boot

    4. break the transparent plastic film covering the driver

    5. use a screw driver to lift up the DVD holding mechanism

    6. remove the DVD

    7. assemble the DVD driver and the car accessories

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Ricky

  3. Just read this post. I am now in same position.

So how did you get the DVD out of the drive?

My sat nav unit is a gen5 (TNS 700) mounted in the dash.

It does not have a mechanical Eject button button but it does have an eject icon on the 1st menu screen.

Trouble is, I cannot see the 1st menu screen!!!

thanks for any advice you can give.

My Sat Nav DVD unit is located under the floor of the luggage area and I have no idea about dashboard mounting Sat Nav DVD device. My dashboard only has 6-disc CD unit. Sorry that I am unable to offer any help to you.

  5. Hi Ricky. I think you should be OK provided you are careful and use a bit of common sense. When I was at Fraser Island I saw lots of "soft roaders" getting around OK. You may need to reduce your tyre pressures when driving in soft sand in the rainforest and some of the more heavily trafficked areas, so take a compressor and tyre pressure gauge. Driving on the beach should be fine, but keep out of the salt water. Make sure you wash it well as soon as you get back to the mainland.

Hi Poisson, Thanks for giving me the safety pill. Did you drive your RX to Lake Mckenzie? Can RX handle the holes and roots on the track?

  6. I intend to bring my RX330 to Fraser Island. Can someone share with me their experience and advice to me if that is not a good idea? As RX330 does not have lo-range and differential lock, how can it manage off-road? Is its clearance enough to go through holes and roots? Is it advisable to remove spare tyre to increase clearance? Will it cause severe damages if scratches at undercarriage?

  7. 1. Try google 'lpg conversion brisbane' theres heaps.

    2. Call around as prices vary from different workshops.

    3. Would be in the spare tyre space & its not illegal to drive with no spare.

    4. You LOSE performance on LPG compared to petrol & its noticable on any vehicle I think.

    5. LPG is cheaper to purchase but consuption is almost twice that of petrol for the same distance.

Also LPG cars can only get pink slips & gas system repairs from gas Licensed workshops.

Why would you want to hack up a Lexus for LPG just to save a few cents per km, is it worth it?

If saving is less than 30% and pay-back period is longer than 12 months, I will drop this idea.

  8. I have 2005 RX330 with all the good 6 cd changer and Mark Levinson audio system. However the audio system can't load mp3 cd. Is there anyway to make it mp3 compatible. I know the newer version RX350 has this capability. The dealer told me that it is just impossible to upgrade - the only alternative is to replace the whole audio system (and no guarantee as well that this will work).

    Thanks

You can look for after-market product to allowing iPod interface to your existing audit system. http://www.vaistech.com/products/

  9. Do anyone have answers to the following queries in converting 2003 RX330 into LPG?

    1. Workshop in Brisbane has appropriate conversion kit

    2. Conversion Cost (before and after government rebate)

    3. Location of LPG tank (at the luggage compartment or at the spare tyre space) - is it illegal to drive without spare tyre but only with refilling kit?

    4. Performance

    5. Consumption

    Thanks

  10. Thanks for your advice. I have already resolved the problems and am working fine with v15.

    Regards,

    Ricky

Hey Ricky - did you ever get it sorted?

Not wishing to sound condescending, but did you put the disk in the right drive? Not sure about the RX330, but on the RX350 the navigation DVD drive is under the floor of the boot - on the right hand side of the tool compartment. If you put the disk in the audio drive on the centre stack, that's not the right place!

    Hi there,

Thanks for your inputs. I did put the disc to the right drive on the right corner underneath the floor of the boot.

Ricky, did you ever get this sorted out? Like others I don't want to sound condescending but you are aware that there is no button to push on the sat nav player, it is a slide that you move from left to right. To remove slide the eject button towards the front of the car, once loaded slide the button to the back of the car.

You may have tried this but in case you haven't have a go.

    Cheers,

  12. I inserted a copy of v14 DVD+R DL (with label facing up and data side facing down) into the DVD driver of my 2003 RX330. The screen showed "Unable to read data....", so I tried to remove the DVD from the DVD driver by depressing eject button. Unfortunately, the DVD does not eject and is stuck inside the DVD driver. Please advice how to deal with.

  13. I have just got a new V.14 map for GPS system, but I am not sure how to do the update. Does anyone knows how to do it?

My car is 2003 RX330. The V.14 DVD is from a friend who has new IS250. Would the V.14 DVD compatible to each other?

Absolutely! I updated my both my wife's 2007 RX350 and my own 2007 IS250 using the exact same v14 DVD I copied from a mate's Kluger. I have a small PDF showing how to get to the DVD drive on the RX. It's located under the false floor in the cargo area, is very simple to get to and requires no tools. I can't post attachments in this forum, so PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

Hi Korvan, it would be great if I can grab more info of V14 from you. Would you pls email me at RX330buyer@gmail.com?
