  1. the fronts should set you bake for the Kumho's about $200-250 each...i had them on my old car...the rears i'm unsure because i've never purchased in that size before, but as a reference, i've purchased the kumho's in 255/35/18 and that went for a lil over 300 each.

coming from a noisy car, the standard dunlops (sport maxx) are very quiet and aren't very cheap either

tyres places have been quoting me 225/40/18 for $350 each (rrp 500) and for the 255/40/18 $600 each (rrp 800+)

when it comes time to change my rears, def going a different brand!

  2. i have read reviews about the auto versus manual, and they say that its a shame that us aussies here can't appreciate a manual luxury car as they claim the manual IS250 is a bundle of joy to have.

I've also got a manual sports coupe along with my auto is250.

i have 230rwkw in my manual versus a stock auto is250 (~115rwkw) and i can tell you the is250 is still enjoyable to drive, yes it doesn't have as much of grunt as my other car but you tend to appreciate the car a lil more. That being said, i mess around with the tiptronic and boy its fun...my TCS likes to beep a lot

  3. yeah, i got the letter too, it say slide pin may corrode over time and something about a magnet on the steering shaft column adhesive not adhering over time (when its suppose to be a non-service part).

Said it'll take about 6 hours to rectify.... was suppose to book my car over some minor warranty thing...well, booked it for the entire day now to get the issue sorted :)

  4. i'm after the same kit for my is250 as well.

www.carmate.com.au do a replica of the kit, however i have asked around and many ppl have had less than positive things to say about them.

so in a nutshell i wasn't game enough to buy the kit from there.

sorry i couldn't be much more help.

I found a guy called Theo in South Australia from GTautosound.com who also sells the kit. According to him, the kit is ' a perfect copy moulded from the original but strengthened in some areas', it is now in black gel coat and ready to be delivered. Painting and professional painting are required tho. He is trying to sell me with $1500 + freight? who do you think ? I am unsure about the quality/fit of the kit at this stage. He said the original would cost $3500 + freight + tax.......

has anyone ordered any body kits from the US? what's the quality/fit like ??

try motoware (in victoria) for the genuine kit and see how much they would quote you, i highly doubt it would be 3500 +freight etc.

  5. the price is cheap, but i don't believe it is that cheap to be too concerned about (still get proper checks done though)

the private going price is at around 40k for that package...

    i just picked up mine

    05 sports model

no emv or leather (didn't care for these two points)

45k on the road with extended 3 year warranty (so 4 more years from nowish)

    45k on the clock

from a dealer with all dealer benefits...dealer benefits usually expire after standard warranty if you purchase privately, but all my benefits have been extended.

free vaccum and wash, another car if car is getting fixed under warranty, service lloan car, free usuage of snow chains and other snow equip, free hilux loan car whenever i need it.

  6. Hi guys,

I'm new to owning a lexus (picked up my Black 05 is250 Sports 2 weeks ago)

I've been in the performance car scene for 5 years now and well i'm kinda moving on from performance and headed into luxury (i still own a 1999 nissan silvia s15 and set it up for a bit of track fun, and i got it tuned to run 98octane with e10)

my question is, can the is250 run e10 with no problems? the dealer said he "thinks" i can, but i don't want to take that chance (even though i still have another 4 years of factory warranty).

can someone give me a definite answer

    cheers

    khoa
