i did a bit of googling and if you type in failed transaction car insurance nothing comes up -
have you spoken to fair trading?
also with your lawyer id try and find a insurance lawyer to handle your case
-
*BLEEP* me what a load of sh*t the insurance companies are
wtf does a failed transaction even mean
-
In my case they could never send me a letter because I bought my car privately and I never told Lexus that this car changed hands. They'll probably send a letter to the original owners.
I'm sure there are plenty of others in my position, and some won't even know about a recall. Time to ring the consumer hotline I guess...
how did you go with this?
-
thanks guys appreciate the feedback. The insurance company has given up on the police as well so the investigator is filing their report and decision should be made early next week. If the claim is rejected than I will put pressure on the police big time especially as with my help we could have recovered the car day one. I quote the officer when I identified the suspects on day one: "yeah we know them they are well known criminals and have a fair idea where they are" yet nothing has been done whatsoever.
they would be waiting for them to do a bigger crime hence why they are sitting on your car, then they will add this charge to what ever crime they commit, its crap the way it all works
stolen car they might get under 12 months if they have had previous offences
-
Just out of interest Chris how much did it cost?
200 one headlight
-
i cant believe this story, my mate told me about it
feel for you mate
to be honest i dont think you will see your car again which is *BLEEP*house
also shouldnt the insurence pay it out because it is fraud?
-
hey guys,
i had a little stack in my car ( p plater ran a stop sign )
insurance replaced one headlight and the c**ks wouldnt replace the other so the car looked crap
because one headlight had faded a bit and the other was brand new
i found a place at artarmon in sydney who repairs and cleans them so now it looks like i have 2 brand new headlights
http://www.crystalclearheadlights.com.au/
i have no association with these guys just thought id recommend them
cheers

I've had my ISF since January.
Done about 10,000 kms, 18 tanks of fuel & average is 11.86.
Always use 98.
Tank is 64 litres.
any sydney driving ?
-
is the tank a 60L?
-
I've not yet had a chance to do a freeway run but three full tanks worth in Sydney peak hour traffic with a light foot is yielding around 14litres per 100kms. Avg Speed according to the trip computer of 32km/h.
this is what i thought it will be ^^
so realistcally it would be like $30 a week in petrol give or take
mrs e fresh wont be told that amount hahaha - the funny thing is she isent a tight ass its just the whole v8 thing
also you guys run 98 or 95?
i havent even test drove one as of yet as if i get in one i'll sell mine straight away
-
to and from work freeways generally no in traaffic as i start early and finish early
and general driving for my job through out sydney
i pick and choose whats roads to drive on as i cant handle traffic so i know alot of back streets so i dont get caught with the sunday drivers!
-
hi All,
Almost been given the green light to upgrade the is250 to an isf early next year but the mrs is going on about petrol blah blah blah
Currently i use about 10L/100klms and car sales has it listed as 9l/100 klm
it has the ISF 11.4L / 100km
just trying to gauge what roughly you guys spend on petrol and average / 100 klms, so then i can munipulate what you guys tell me and convince her hahah
thanks in advance

What oil are they currently using in it? Brand, specs etc? These engine are very particular about oil, especially once they've got a few KM under their belt. I would not use 10W40.
A thick 5W30 or 10W30 synthetic would be my first choice. Look for 30 weight that meets VW 502/505 or VW 504/507 failing that BMW LL-01 specifications. If you must use a 40 weight then I look at 5W40 or 0W40 that meets BMW LL-01 spec. Mobil1 & Shell Helux Ultra should be the easiest to find. Ideally you should track down some Motul 8100 X-clean. I think Autobarn sell it. Don't waste you money on semi synthetic or inferior brands like Penrite, Nulon, Valvoline, Castrol etc
to bad you live in nz id buy oil straight away from you
