  1. The passenger side seat produces a significant squeak when resting on the seat’s backrest. The squeak is generated from the two areas where the stainless steel supports meet with the leather trim. This noise has started only recently. Has anyone experienced this and how can it be rectified?

  2. When the car is started in the morning or after it has cooled down there is a thud / shudder felt inside the car just for a moment. I reported this to the dealership and I was told that it is normal. This shudder was not there when the car was purchased and the car has only run 16,900Kms. Can I please have your experiences in this regard and has it been fixed and how was it rectified?

  3. If its the sound of the pads gripping on the disks as they grab or release then yes its common. On other cars too.

Its only that the car is so quiet that the sound is more noticeable.

Asbestos free high performance brake pads are noisier but work great. The other trade off is they don't last as long but again they work great.

Thanks. I have a 2009 Maxima and a 2008 Toyota Aurion. I tried all I could to replicate the same noise but didn't succeed. Even the field specialist at Lexus could not re-produce the same noise from his Toyota Camry. If it is a common noise, it is very embarrassing and annoying on a $120K car.

By the way the brake noise is getting worse on braking when on a slope and slowly releasing the brakes

  6. Do you still hear the noise after driving for a few kms? If so, I would seek a second opinion from another dealer. I test-drove a GS450H and did not hear any brake noise nor do I get any as per your description on my RX400H.

No, there is no brake noise while driving and applying brakes. It is only when you stop and move forward. The noise is very obvious when you are on a splope and trying to nudge forward slowly.

  7. Can somene help please?

I have a GS450h 2008 model. When I stop the car, the brakes produce a noise similar to the noise you get when the disk is polished and slips. The same noise is also produced when you take off. I took my car to Lexus dealership and the field specialist from Lexus had a test drive of the car along with me and I demonstrated the noise. The noise is very prominent and annoying when you are a slope and inching forward, this was also demonstrated. The report that I got from the field specialist was that this is a common noise on all Lexus cars. I later sent the specialist a link to this site and I was then told that further investigation is being done. Is there a fix for this and what is Lexus's response to other owners of this model of car for the same problem.

    Tony
