  2. Welcome mate. I have had my 2005 Lexus IS 250 Sports (not luxury) since Feb 2010 and it's the best car ever. Especially with the ML system - you will go deaf but it's worth it

    Enjoy

That ML system is pretty impressive. I have put together my own custom audio systems before in my previous car, and have to say this ML system is up there with the best. Very crisp and clean sound, and very well balance too (even at high volume). Although, have only manage to get the volume up to 35 so far, cause my wife wouldn't let me turn it up higher. Will crank it up a bit more when i'm driving by myself.

  3. Hey, welcome and you'll only love it more and more as the years go by.

Anyway, the iPhone is not as easy as plug and play into the USB port; but you would need to get a iPod / iPhone connector which connects into the back of the unit and sits in the glove box or centre console. (I recommend glove box; I had mine moved from the centre console when I realised I couldn't manually use it and it always got in the way).

You can usually get these thrown in with the car purchase; but since you've taken delivery you might have to fork up for it. But well worth it!

Hey Franky he's got a 2010 model...USB is standard from factory in the centre console.

So your part right...it is thrown in with purchase.

Welcome 52midnite & congrats on the car...what colour combo did you get?

In regards to your iPhone, the salesman that sold you the car should have shown you how to get the tunes flowing.

Try this....plug the cable into the USB in the car but not your iPhone yet. Start music playing on your iPhone then plug the cable into the iPhone and you should then be able to select "USB" on the audio screen. All going well you should be singin' & dancin'.

Let us know how you go.

Thanks to all for your welcoming messages and advice.

Ok, so this is what I have tried:

    1. plug the cable in first, then the phone - didn't work

    2. played the songs on the iphone first, then plug in the cable - didn't work either

    3. switched off the audio. plugged the cable and the phone in first before turning anything on - didn't work either

Out of frustration tho, I grabbed another iphone USB cable (from my wife's iphone), plugged that in then the phone, select USB on the head unit, and presto! IT WORKS!!

It was the cable all along. Which is strange because the same cable workd fine on my pc. Is there such thing as cable compatibility??? But seems to be the case. Or may be i'm just such a newbie...

Anyway, just love this car even more now since i can connect my iphone to it!!

Btw, the colour combo was black/black.

Thanks again for all your help.
