  1. after 5 days of DBA T2 - Bendix GCT Pad

    Here's me 2 cents:

    1. yep, am experiencing what bowen young had : Pumping hard to get the same stopping effect as original.

    2. I would say stopping range does increase if the same original pressure applies to the new brakes.

    3. Dust does reduce a little bit as such, but not much as compared to original.

I am looking forward for another couple weeks of driving, as performance will improve from now on.

  2. Just done
my 50k service on my car, everything came back perfect but was told that I need
to replace my front brakes – Disc and pad.
    Here is my detail:-

Car: 2011 Lexus IS250 (bought brand new,
    everything original)

Purpose: 95% city driving 5% highway

Main Driver and passenger: Mum and 3 y.o kid

    Driving style: careful driving

Conclusion from this thread: DBA T2 + Bendix GCT pad

Issue: Bowen Yong was complaining “these pads are pretty *BLEEP* compare to OEM” and soft pumping, some also complaint about squel

Issue 2: Mechanic are suggesting this combination is an overkill for the purpose and suggest RDA disc and RDA pad for a saving of $150.

What I want: Performance as close to original braking system but less dust.

It seems like the more I read this thread and ask around the more confused I get with choices. I am currently thinking either an RDA disc

with Bendix GCT or should I just go DBA with Bendix GCT

    Problem with EBC = Dust

    Any opinion?

  3. I am not too sure whether they are mp3 or mpeg 1 audio layer 2,3...or etc.....

    all I know,

they are mp3, and 320kbps bit rate. root folder = 74 files. 2013's songs.

how do I check if they are mpeg 1 audio layer 2,3 or what.

funny thing is that some 320kbps plays fine, some doesn't all with file extension dot mp3. I presumed they are MPEG 2.5—32 to 160 kbps ? some plays 320kbps no problem? huh!?

There's a number of limitations to the USB MP3 playback feature. Here's just some of them. Check out our Navigation System Owner's Manual for more details:

    Playable bit rates
    MP3 files for USB memory:
    MPEG 1 AUDIO LAYER 2, 3—32 to 320 kbps
    MPEG 2 AUDIO LAYER 2, 3—32 to 160 kbps
    MPEG 2.5—32 to 160 kbps

USB memory—It is possible to play up to 999 folders, 255 files per folder or 65,025 files in device. (So you may get some strange results if you have more than 255 MP3's in the root folder of the USB memory stick.)

  4. Don’t know what is going on with my Music system. Car: 2011 IS250 Prestige with SAT NAV (so we are not talking about mark levinson system). I download hundreds of MP3 from the net and put it on USB pendrive. I then plugged the USB onto my car and realised that some songs doesn’t work. the song title and name appears on the display, but it will just skip over to the next workable songs. Sometimes it will skip 3-4 songs until it find a playable song. I thought all mp3 file format are the same, dot m p three file format. Any idea what is going on? is it because of the size of the song? The kbps? Fault of my system? the name of the file? anyone knows?

    Thanks guys

  6. Help Guys.

Im after a set of aftermark HID conversion kit, and i dont know which one to choose from. From Ebay, there are tons and tons to choose from, ranging from $40 - $900. Read it on the internet, some says it's alright to go for generic, while some says generic (or those made in china) fried their wire. It seems to me that the more i read into something the more confuse i get, and i am in dilemma. I really dont know which one to get now.Sorry for being such a noob about it!

Same applies to the color temperature. Was thinking about 8000K. some says it's hard to see when it rains and recommend 4500k, and 6000k is pushing it. :(

now, what sort of HID kit you guys using huh?? mind sharing? and the color temperature? any trouble with the boys in blue?

worth it to spend extra to get those $250 to $300 HID kit or just go with generic $100 - $150 ??

    thanks in advance!!

  7. I am currently in contact with Lexus HK, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Will let u guys know whats the outcome of it.

some has replied that they only service customers in their country.

Yes the control that does the speed and RPM orange ring light also does the DRL so for sure he will run into some dramas...

I have doubts over the $700 price as well. He hasn't specified where from? Asia is a big place.

  8. is this a genuine set of DRL headlights?

or some cheap no name chinese product?

Genuine set of DRL headlights from Lexus factory. I do realised parts price differ from countries to countries.am just worry that the fittings might be different, just like how DRL lights comes in standard in some asian country for all level of IS250 (2011 model). I would think the fittings are pretty much the same, and writting here to make sure if u guys know anything about headlights sittings and fittings.

Apparently lexus do not sell parts to individual, unless a dealer is willing to order them on behalf.

  9. Hi Guys.

I've just recently purchased an 2011 IS250 Prestige model and thinking about upgrading the headlamps to those with DRL Led and HID (ones u see in Sports luxury and ISF).

I think it would be cheaper to source the part from factories in asia, like malaysia,Hong kong, Taiwan, China or Japan.

But i am wondering whether the parts will fit into my lexus or not? Am just worry that some fittings might be different from countries to countries

is there anything i should be aware of?

I do know i can source the parts from SEWELL (USA), but the price is just ridiculously expensive (which i think a lot of u guys would agree)

    any advise?

    Thanks guys.
