  1. Thanks guys for your insights.

I was referring to 2nd gen IS 250 as I have one and thought my next upgrade would preferably be the 350. The low end on auto in 2IS 250 is quite disappointing and the upshifts on paddle shift seem to have its own mind when you are accelerating hard in gears 1, 2 and 3.

Having said that, I still love the car overall.

I have never driven the 350 before but had a go in an ISF once. The upshifts were immediate.

Am looking forward to the coupe but not sure if I can accept the front grille still. Need to see it in the flesh.

  2. Thanks for your reply.

Would you know if the height for BR Type RS Series be adjusted higher than your current ride height? It looks too aggressive to me. Doesn't say on their site the height range. was hoping to lower my rear by approx 1.5" and front 1".

    Hey mate,

Yeah they can, I left my coils as they were shipped to me however I can wind them up a inch or lower them about another 3/4 inch. This would be the same with the BR Type as well

    Cheers

    Q

Thanks. Will call them tomorrow to enquire about shipping.

  3. Hi Quockies,

May I know how much you paid for your BCs, where you got it from and how much it cost you to install them? Thanks!

    hey mate,

I paid $1150 for the BC Racing V1 but if I could do it again, I wouldnt be a tight ass and gone the V2 for $1300. Picked them up from https://www.justjap.com/ including delivery (courier).

It costed me 3-4 hours of my time to install (Socket set, breaker bar, impact wrench, jack stands & jack) them otherwise you can get them installed for about $200-$400 depending on where and who.

    Thanks for your reply.

  4. I was really looking forward to changing over to the new model in 1 - 2 years time but am deeply disappointed with the new design (Lexus designers: I hope you are hearing this!!).

The spindle grille, ugly headlights, black moulding on the rear bumper and mediocre leather wrapped gearshift really put me off. Also, the rims seemed to have come from the LSF but looked strikingly similar to the previous gen Accord Euro.

The new 3 series looked quite unspectacular (terrible front nose if I may add) and I thought it wouldn't take much for the new IS to blow it out of the water in terms of design but sigh..it's going to be an uphill task to outsell it now.

These pictures looked better than those on watoday.com.au. Link here:

Even my 4-year-old son agreed it looked bad and thought our current IS was nicer. Take a look at the comments below the report. It is hard to appreciate the improved drive if one cannot look past the skin.

The only thing that I liked was the speedometer.

Hopefully it does look better in the metal.
