  1. Didn't take me long!! Never had a car with low profile tyres and today scraped the edge on a kerb :( Will clean it up as best I can and get *BLEEP*ty every time I see it! The edge of half the rim is now silver!!
  2. Mine is 3 odd weeks old now and I can't believe how easy the interior is to mark so will keep this in mind! Thanks.
  3. Thanks everyone. Picked up the car and love it. At the dealership we were in a bit of a hurry as we had to wait for a little bit to see the rep so we just put the contacts in the car and synced the phone. Changed the door lock to all doors unlock and then he just showed me how to set the voice activations etc for the phone and how to dim and light up the dash / tacho / speedo etc. We were told to just drive it how we would normally drive - no 1000km take it easy etc - and give it a bit every now and again to loosen it up. Apparently the car will respond to how we treat it so if we just poodle along, thats all the car will do. If we loosen it up, the car will liven up!!! We were then spoilt with a visit from the MD who gave us a 3 tier box of champagne, glasses, chocolates and other assorted nibblies etc and a voucher to spend on a home entertainment package. And of course the car was beautifully presented in the cube, ready for me to drive away. Will get on to reading the manual and working out what settings I want but thanks for your input.
  4. Great, thanks for your responses. Just wasn't sure if there were any must haves before I left the dealership so I will have a look through the manual and see what I want for next time I go in. Thanks very much. Bummer about the US only settings!
  5. Hi Again Am picking my car up this arvo and have seen around here that there are certain settings that only the dealer can do. Can anyone tell me what I should get done before I leave the dealership? Also, can they program your home rollerdoor remote into the car somehow? I think I read this somewhere. I am going to see if they can transfer the contacts etc from my iphone before I go because I have seen that this is hard work. My sales rep told me it was easy so I will let him do it!! I seriously can't wait. And everyone keeps telling me what a great experience it is to pick up your new car from the dealership. When I picked up my last car brand new it was all done in 10 minutes, there it is, thanks and goodbye, that was it. Interested to see how a different brand does it. I saw that as a Lexus Corporate client you get a Lexus Welcome Gift. Didn't think you got a gift for buying a new car - sounds interesting. If I get one, I will let you know what it is. Anyway, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the above. Cheers
  6. Well we drove the 350 today and loved it!!! Only problem is they won't negotiate the price unfortunately :( they will give us a couple of grand off and that's it for the one they have in stock which isn't 100% what we want and if we order one it is full rrp! Guess we wait now or else go with an interstate dealership!
  7. That was a great read, thanks. I have one more question about the IS. How is it for visibility and blind spots? Is it hard to see out the back or out the back seat windows? It is a little hard to really test visibility as where we get taken for test drives is an industrial area with no lanes for overtaking or really getting a good look around for other vehicles etc. I will take it on the freeway and have a good play (I hope) but just wanted to know if there was anything in particular I should check while doing the test drive. I would love to be able to have it for a few hours to just test all my concerns without feeling the pressure to get back to the dealership or that I am taking too long on the test drive ya know! It's a big investment to make after only driving it for 10 or 15 minutes. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for that! When I first posted about buying the car I didn't expect many responses so am very appreciative of all the help I've been given!
  9. Thanks for the offer MrBBQWER but that is ok. I have made up my mind and reading comparisons might unmake my mind haha!! I have been going backwards and forwards between the RX350 for the extra room and the IS250/350 for the awesomeness of the car for about 5 months now. I think I am ready to get out of the Soccer Mum group and trade the SUV!!
  10. I obviously fall into this category as have only posted and answered in my original (and only) thread however at the moment, don't feel like I can contribute much more as I'm not yet an owner so not sure of what advice to give anyone. I did however want to speak to current owners to see what they thought of the car - space mainly - before I purchased it and am grateful for the responses I was given. Especially those who gave a guide as to what I can expect to pay. I hope to become a regular contributor to the forum but until I own it, I don't feel I have much to offer other than picking peoples brains. Understand your concerns though!
  11. I don't see any 250 F Sports either. F sports are almost non existant here. I am actually in Melbourne quite often and I see heaps of IS's over there but there aren't many here. Maybe I'll be the trendsetter!! I'll post pics as soon as I get it - whats wrong with the red colour, no one seems to have it. I do want it, you're right!
  12. Thanks Bluey. The one we are test driving has a moonroof so I will try that and see how he goes. He does have enough room if he puts the seat right back and down and moves the steering wheel but then there's pretty much no room behind him for anyone to sit. How do you go with passengers behind you when you drive? Can you see I want the car regardless of my husbands comfort haha!! I told him to tilt his head and shutup.
  13. Thanks for your input Mrbbqwer!! Yes, it is a tight fit for him, hence getting one without a moonroof. Gives him an extra few centimetres. He won't be in it often so it is really just for me and the kids. I understand there is a shipment on the way so hopefully there will be something on there that suits us. This has been great having everyones input. Thanks to everyone for responding.
