  1. Hey guys, need a bit of help. I've been umming and ahhing about springs ever since i got the damn car but financial reasons and the fact i live with a steep driveway and constantly take a full load of passengers made me always question it... But want to know what's going to give me a reasonable drop without me scrubbing on my current set up taking into account potential full passengers etc..

I have the ISF style wheels staggered fitment 19x8F and 19x8.5R with 235/35F and 255/35R tyres. I currently already get a little bit of scrub on the inner front wall guard when I turn the wheel about one full turn. Just worried that a bigger drop could be a problem. Which springs will suit me best?

  2. Lexus *BLEEP*ed my mirrors up too, I told them to fix it and then they blamed it on me and said I broke them, quoted a stupid price to do so as well.. now my right mirror struggles to position itself and my left one doesn't work at all. So I thought, *BLEEP* it, I'll just use my fingers to reposition them, so I just adjusted it manually haha. Not sure if my car was meant to have the auto-tilt feature but never did since I was the owner.. so eh

  3. Hey guys, up for sale is my beloved Lexus. Reason for selling is due to wanting an F-Sport variant upgrade. Looking for a quick and honest sale, price is negotiable.

    Year: 2009

    Model: IS250

    Badge: Prestige

    Kilometres: 90XXX

    Colour: Graphite

    Location: Mornington, Victoria.

Other features as standard such as cruise control, electric seats...

The car is in very good condition, has recently been detailed by Affinesse so paint is in prime condition. Second owner through family and both non-smokers. Car is located in Mornington and 80% of KM's on the car are freeway and highway kilometres (Peninsula Link/Monash Freeway).

  4. I saw your car on the detailing forums afgmoh! Looking great - saw it on the Lexus Melbourne meetup page or something before it was deleted too.

Have you thought of getting black centre caps for your wheels like the OEM ones?

Thanks man! Yeah we made a new group on facebook from our latest meet, 15 members so far. Mods on here didn't appreciate us creating a page so it's available upon request, I don't want to 'do the wrong thing' by posting it here. No I haven't thought about getting black ones, I think the ones I have now suit nice, do you think the black ones would look better? I've never thought about it!

  5. My car after being detailed at Affinesse a couple of weeks back! Amazing service! Previous owner sucked at taking care of it so I thought I'd fix it up :) Front bar still needs a slight respray on the lip, but I'm happy with how it turned out! Tein S-tech is next on the shopping list hopefully! :) Still waiting on a 'provider' Lexus of Brighton referred me to for my FlyAudio map update...it's been over 2 months and still no new maps or word from him...bit disappointed, but yeah that might be it for the IS..

  6. Safe to say it was a good day out! Good to meet and greet and the little cruise we had later to St.Kilda was nice! Definitely great things to come! Photos will be up as soon as people who attended post them! :P

And, apologies for the FB page with the "Lexus Australia" tag, I didn't mean anything wrong from it Steve. The guys who all attended today agreed on creating a 'Group' on Facebook for easier posting and quicker responses for DIY help, tips, advice, photos and news as meets are going to be organized hopefully once a month now and all other general things. As I'm not allowed to post this on the site due to risk of offending the webpage, the link for the page is available upon request and is in no way affiliated with the 'AU Lexus Owners Club' team. Contact either myself or LXISF for details :)

Good stuff today guys! Good to see some other great IS's out there!

  7. Hey mate, I've got a FlyAudio unit installed. I had it installed when I bought the car. There's no bluetooth audio playback with my unit, only for phonecalls. Easy interface looks OEM in every way, some ups and downs but I guess that's with every unit. Major annoying thing is there's no clock on the unit, only on the screen if that makes sense. I'd still happily swap my FlyAudio unit with an OEM Navi any day though.. that's just me though haha :)

  8. Lexus page guys! Let's get this started! Invite everyone !! :) I'll make the event and get everything up and running! Be sure to like the page :)

We'll also use this page to help build a huge community that's very active for help and promote future events and meets.

Also, link to the FB Event page with all details for meet:

    Thanks again LXISF!

  9. Hey guys just need some advice on lowering my car I've never done it before but after a while of debating I want to do it but do it right... I'm trying to get the 'guard slightly above tyre' look without having to roll my guards...

I've thinking of two options to lower my car...

1- F-sport springs and shocks (Around $1200ish excluding installation)

2- BC BR Coilovers ($1200ish excluding install)

I understand that coilovers will give me adjustable height but I'm not sure what else I'll need in regards to camber and all that stuff... I thought about changing just the springs to F-sport ones but understand that my comfortable ride will be sacrificed without getting the shocks..

Question is really... what's the best way to lower the car without sacrificing ride comfort and without having to worry about possible future problems? If that makes any sense... lol.

    Please help! haha

  10. Hey guys, just want to buy new springs to lower my car a bit. Coilovers are a bit overkill for me and don't think they're the right option for me. Just wondering what's the best solution for springs on stock shocks? A friend recommended the F-sport springs on stock shocks and they'd work fine but wondering if there are others you'd recommend? Currently running 19" ISF style wheels on staggered fitment. Just want to do the best/safest/ "legal" cost effective way to lower it as much as possible with springs. Any help is greatly appreciated

    Cheers

  11. Hey guys, Have a little bit of a pickle..

I recently bought new maps off a microSD from http://www.gpsmapstore.com/ for $50 and guaranteed it will work on my IS250. It's running the aftermarket FlyAudio unit and said it's a straight swap of SD cards and done. That was true, but the problem I'm facing is that the resolution displayed from the card is too large, I can't select anything properly. Does anyone know or have tips on how to fix? To shrink the display coming from the MicroSD? :(

    Please someone help! haha

  12. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I need some help please. I have a 2009 IS250 Prestige. Today in the sun I noticed my windshield is suffering heavily from light scratches and 'permanent dirtyness' from the wipers, there's also 2 VERY small chips from what I can see. The light scratches though are very very annoying in the sun as they become quite noticeable...

Question is. Is this repairable without having to replace the entire windshield?

If not, what windshield do I get? Where? How much? (From Victoria, south east suburbs). All I've learned is the after market windshields have a green tinge and weird antenna? I'd prefer to go OEM but rather not have to donate a kidney to do so..

    :(

  13. Bendix CT pads are not as good when compared to the OEM pads, i changed to it today, and i was like what the hell happened to my brake, the brake pedal feels soft during hard brake and the difference is definitely noticeable!

*BLEEP*, my friend told me to get Bendix GCT instead of the EBC Redstuff as he said I wouldn't need it... What are your opinions?

Also if you went EBC would you get redstuff or greenstuff? Going with DBA Slotted rotors too... I heard the pads can wear the rotors quicker? :S I have no idea what to get anymore
