  1. This one is in NSW, being sold by a dealer for a reasonable price. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2013-lexus-is-is-f-auto-my13/OAG-AD-18730643/?Cr=0&gts=OAG-AD-18730643&gtsSaleId=OAG-AD-18730643&gtsViewType=topspot&rankingType=topspot Seems fairly clean as well.

I have one with the same colour and I was settled on that colour when I bought mine - I've yet to see another one of that colour in Victoria. Perhaps you can consider buying it without stamps and transfer fees and have it brought down, then register it at VicRoads.

  2. To be fair, us Victorians are hindered by the lack of IS Fs, let along being able to find a cheap one due to its rarity. You may want to buy from interstate, however do bear in mind the motor vehicle duty that you'll have to pay if you buy the car interstate or privately locally. These MY12 and MY13 cars are still rather pricey, thus the duty will be around $2-3k.

If anything, the grey one at Lexus of Brighton and the black one you mentioned from Jeep Brighton may still be priced reasonably.

By the way, I own a grey MY13 in Melbourne, therefore please feel free to stay in touch.

on long trips its dropped into the high 7s

    Tuned by James at BPS

Is it running lean? Those numbers are similar to my dad's Aurion which is a 6 cylinder.

    I am getting 21l/100km lol

I have seen others getting half haha.

    PS.  Weekend car

What are you getting and if it's daily or weekend

You seem like you thrash your car - well to be fair, you state that it's a weekend car. I average 15-16 ltr/100 km driving in the city and 8-9 ltr on the open roads. I did reach 20 ltr/ 100 km once on the day I first got the car and drove it like I stole it.

    yeah, these will be fine.

At 265/35 the rear will feel a bit more softer (since the air cushion is increased using this profile compared to 255/35 stock).

The front is significantly better in the fast sweepers and corners, but steering will feel a bit odd at very slow speeds 5-10kph like during turning in and out of a driveway or parking.

Steering feels odd as in it feels heavier? I remember the steering felt like proper power steering with the stock 225 tyres, but since I switched to 245 Michelin PSS they feel rather heavy at crawling pace.

HPS sounds the go I think.

Funny you mentioned Joe Z. One of the staff at Lexus Of Perth asked me if I was going to install a Joe Z exhaust. I'm guess this is like the dux nuts of exhausts? Or the original that

a lot of people installed when it first came out?

I mean, there are a couple of options available for this car, such as a Borla or RR Racing, and I'm sure there are more.

However, the Joe Z system was created in the states by a mechanic/tuner who owns an IS F and spent good time and effort in order to perfect the design and development, and many IS F owners over there were able to source the system at a reasonable price given it was manufactured locally.A lot of them began to respect and appreciate the quality of the system as well as the proven power gains, and the forums started to become inundated with suggestions of installing the said system.

Given the word was being spread, us overseas owners would rather purchase and install a product which is being raved and respected due to the substantial  time and money spent on sourcing the product. Not to mention that at one stage, Lexus of Sydney and Brisbane were importing them particularly over its rival counterparts to offer to IS F owners as an aftermarket option.

  7. I'm currently have a HPS intake tube, and like many have said, I went down this route as to avoid heat soak especially during the warmer months. Not the mention the silicon composition allows for easier manoeuvre of the intake box and access to throttle body as opposed to the stock plastic tubing. Could be a placebo effect, however I noticed that throttle response has improved with the inclusion of the tube.

As for exhaust, I currently have the PTS Joe Z cat back system which gives a really good tone without being obnoxious.

    Hi guys

Just a quick question. The isf that im receiving from Sydney, December 2012 build, I know it would have an immobiliser, but would it come standard with some sort of alarm?

If so, what type? Siren or triggering of horn? Any lights flashing? Glass break sensors or vibration sensors?

If not, anyone fitted a aftermarket alarm they recommend or is there an OEM system available?

    Cheers

They all come standard with a standard Toyota alarm system from the factory, which normally utilises the horn and indicators. That said, Toyota used the standard horn noise which is high pitched and harsh as you would find in any Toyota vehicle, whilst the Lexus uses a more subtle horn tone, therefore I'd say it's more a siren in Lexus products.

How it gets triggered, I don't know as luckily it has never been needed, however you can manually operate it via the key fob.

  9. Lexus of Melbourne used Valvoline 10w30 in my last 2 services and it goes alright. After 3,000km, the engine is still rather quiet, however I think the oil is just mineral and not even a synthetic blend.

I use 5w30 Castrol Edge on our Aurion and Corolla and they run really well. The engine is more responsive and saves a bit of fuel compared to the original 15w40 that was used at the Toyota dealers. Engine stays quiet until well into the service interval. Then again, I can get this oil real cheap therefore I will continue to use it.

Here one Ive done a few times. Not sure re highways and snow traffic on P/hols though.

Eastern suburbs to Yea,  Whitfield, Yark, Ruffy, Creightons creek, Longwood East back via Gooram to Merton.

Home via Maroondah hwy, Yark, Alexandria.

Food and loos at, Yea, Yark, Ruffy, Merton, etc

I have a soft spot for the route going  from Warburton through Reefton up to Marysville then Black Spur, and vice versa. However, the traffic might be a killer during the public holidays, especially going through Black Spur to Marysville.

The road from Marysville to Lake Mountain is a killer as well, however given the snow season has started, the entry fees will most likely apply to reach the top. Deemed the best driving road in Australia according to Top Gear.

my11 is achieveable with 55K budet

would need to stretch to mid 60s for my13

Depending on where you are, you can actually grab a MY12 and maybe a MY13 for circa $55k. There's a MY13  with around 76k km for sale down here in Melbourne for less than $55k.

Sorry to break the hearts of the two gentlemen above who are trying to sell their cars also in Victoria. :whistling:
