Sc4001992
Hi All I just got my hands on a limited Lexus Sc400 1992 Model white coupe. First thing i notice is it sits really low even when car is turned on and was sitting for few months. Im new to these cars and love them and always wanted one, i just hope this isnt to far gone and thats its just good for parts ,cos it relly is one sweet looking soarer. Also the motor i was told needs a tune (spark plugs) and fuses need replacing which is why airbags are not working.Im just wondering if anyone can give me some advice and knowledge as i have no idea and tried to google but didnt help much. any help much appreciated, i can also post some pics if anyone can help cheers

Congrats on your new purchase. Have you checked that the airbag suspension is turned on in the boot? The car might also be lowered, check to see if the airbag sensors have been moved. This is a common, effective and easy way to lower the bagged soarers. cheers

Yeh just on curiousity where are the airbag sensers? and i was told it needs new fuses cos windows, sunroof etc do not work. also the dash sometimes comes on and then nothing so not sure some electrical issue maybe there. On the engine the v8 it sems to idle a little warm the radiator gets i was worried that may be head or gasket any ideas??? as temperature in dash doesnt work so i can tell lol.anyway thanks and talk soon cheers
Lucian
Yeah, make sure that is switched to the 'on' position. When you say warm, what is the temp on the guage? Mine sits smack on in the middle and yes, it does get very hot in there compared to other cars. I think it is partially because of the protector shield underneath the engine stops heat from escaping on the bottom -> the only place for it to go is up! But I am fairly certain this is perfectly normal, I have had no issues with it at all. But get your dash fixed :P. Check this link regarding the lowering: http://planetsoarer.com/lower/Lower.html A lot of the info you will be looking for will be on soarercentral and/or planet soarer. They are great and have had everything I needed queried. Have a poke around. It also sounds like you might have 'blinky dash' - another common problem with the soarers. cheers
