Hi, has anyone noticed or has evidence of better performance by using octane98 fuel? Is the premium price of the fuel worth it for the CT200h?

I always use 98 octane BP ultimate, seem to be averaging 4.7 for the last 10,000km.

Thanks for the reply ! Does it seem to have more "ooomph" with the 98RON ? with my previous non-lexus car, there was a definate difference in take off with the 98 RON vs 95..

I am not sure because I have never put anything less than 98ron in the car. In my previous car a Honda, if I put in anything less than 98 it would feel very sluggish and the engine would not feel as smooth. BTW the Honda did not even have a requirement for 98 but it still made a perceptible difference.

I recall the cars guide did a long term test on this issue. Apparently over the long run(20,000 Kms in a Holden captiva) 98 ends up averaging within $10 overall cost of 91 octane(95 was more costly because of less of an increase in efficiency) because of the increased efficiency, also you need to take into account how much better it is for your engine. LPG ended up being significantly more expensive because of the skyrocket in consumption.

In fact yes 95 was more costly because of slight of a rise in efficiency because of the improved performance, also you must take into consideration how much better it is for your ride.
