Would it be more fun without an LSD?

The cases and housing should be the same bolt off bolt in. They're both automatic it's just that one has an LSD and one doesn't so I'm guessing that it will be a straight swap. You're looking at the OEM Torsen LSD right? It should be housed in the m98 model of the IS300 diff.

Nooooo. If you try and slide with an open diff its dangerous and unpredictable. When both wheels spins its more predictable

Yea just an oem lsd so I can learn to slide hahaha... open diff is kinda scary

Yes. I believe all IS300 models in Australia came with the standard LSD. Should be able to find one from a wreck somewhere. To be honest the IS200 doesn't have enough power for it to slide anyway. You could try go for an engine conversion for more power and put an LSD in that. You could even find a wrecked IS300 somewhere and buy the whole car and convert it into yours. Just a suggestion =D

The IS300 has a B series diff same as the Supra NA models and bigger axles so you would have to swap the whole rear cradle brakes, axles and whole diff.

Also I would double check the tailshafts are a straight swap. Nothing worse than doing all that work to get your car ready for monday morning and the tailshaft is too short or too long.

is200 has enough power to slide.. even in auto. just in auto it doesnt have enough to do bigger slides in the dry. can still link in the wet. manual would be way better. is200 is so nice to slide as far as underpowered auto cars go haha.

and you would be better to find an lsd from an is200.
