pyrmont
Hi guys, I've been told by my Lexus dealer, that the front tyres of my IS250X are not the same as the tyres on the rear? Any reason ? Please be kind,I'm a IS250 X newbie(Came from a RX330)
Terrrrry
18's on the IS are staggered - 225/40/18 fronts, 255/40/18 rears - just have a look at your tyres, they'll have the specs on them.
Lexus Nerd
Reason: Greater contact area with the ground at the rear, and less at the front, reduces oversteering or, perhaps, induce a little bit of understeer. I understand that a slight understeer is preferred in performance driving. The larger rear wheels can also improve stability in crosswinds - one of the main disadvantages of RWDs. Terrrrry
Ooh misread the first post - yeah, more traction, IMO, a staggered setup looks better too!
