I tend to use the paddle shifts for downshifting and engine braking, especially from freeway speeds. I just found it easier not putting it Sports mode then using the paddles.
-
dude just get em to ship it out
iv just put carson spoiler on mine
ill put put some pics up soon
Definitely a great price. I rang last week and they only have a couple of colours left. I missed out because they didn't have any silver left. Damn!!!

I recently has my 30,000km service and had the opportunity to drive the 2009 IS.
I noticed the change in paddle shift function in the 2009 model versus my 2008. You can automatically use the paddle shifts without putting the gear lever into sports mode. Once it senses your not using the paddle shifts anymore it goes back into normal mode.
I think this function was great and really handy.
I asked the dealer (Brighton Lexus) whether I could get this upgrade in my 2008 model. She rang a mechanic and said it wasn't possible. I would have thought it would be a software update of some sort.
Has anyone managed to upgrade this in the pre 2009 models?

Guys, just a quick one. Where is the best place to buy a F sport gearknob?
-
I've also been talking to Brighton Toyota(VIC) and they are quoting the following:
Street Legal
80% Glare reduction (maximum glare reduction a darkest legal film could offer)
75% cabin temperature control
100% SPF and UV Rating
Patented scratch resistant coating-
UV Shield
57-60% Heat Rejection
60% Glare Reduction
Ultra Violet Reduction 99+%
UPF Rating 50+ (the highest UV protection you can get!)
Opti-View Film so its distortion free-
All for $495. not sure whether it justfies an extra $200 over the TintACar film.
What do you reckon guys?

Hi mate,
I use baby seat in the back of my IS and there are no issues. I place the sit in the middle to prevent any kicking going on with the front seats - also the safest place in the car for a baby seat. Also have no worries with placing it in the boot.
Just one word of advice, make sure you purchase the car seat with a mat that goes underneath. This way you will protect your leather and prevent any dents the baby seat might leave.
Really easy to install as well with the harness points on the rear shelf.
In terms of the pram, make sure you test it in the boot before you purchase. Some of the them can get rather bulky which might cause issues when trying to put them in the boot. I own a Quinny which folds really well and fairly flat.
Good luck with the new baby

I got the Midnight Express from Tint A Car. It's metallic no issues with it so far and the price was reasonable.
They say you'll loose some AM reception but I hardly listen to AM. Life time warranty also if I'm not wrong.
Thanks Jomster,
It would be great if you could post some photos.
What is the main difference between Carbon and metallic tint? Is one better than the other?
Thanks

Hi guys,
I'm looking to do some after market tinting. I think I'm going to go with Tint A Car. They seem to be the most professional. I'm not sure which one I should go for - Midnight Express or Bolle.
They told me the Bolle was the best because its carbon based. He quoted me $400.
Do you guys have any experience with these two products.
Your help is appreciated.

Sounds like you guys are getting looked after in NSW.
Can anybody from VIC expand on their experiences from their services.
My 30k service is coming up.
Thanks

These guys seem quite good:

Do a search for IS250 to find relevant wheels.
Has anyone bought wheels from these guys?

Hi All,
Not sure if your aware but SBS will be showing the Top Gear episode featuring the ISF next Monday at 7.30pm. I'm definitely looking forward to see it rather than seeing it on fuzzy Youtube.

Thanks guys for the explanation. I thought they were not functioning probably. I suppose I was expecting the cooling to work as well as the heating.
-
I've got a question about the cooling seats I have in my 2008 IS Prestige. It doesn't seem like they cool at all.
We have had some hot days here in the last couple days and I've been turning my seat to cool on number 3. There seems to be a very minor breeze coming from the cushion but nothing from the backrest. I don't feel cool at all.
Is this normal?
Should there be more of a breeze coming from the seats?

Hi guys picked up my new IS250 series 2 on friday, and i am very impressed. I have bought a set of lexus sports pedals and am asking help with the instilation. I have fitted the brake pedal as that just slips on easy but am having trouble removing the foot rest and the accellerator pedal. Is there a knack to it and i can't get my head down there to look behing the pedal. Any help as i am not keen to roll into lexus and ask for this simple task to be done for me.
Thanks heaps
mark
Mark, Can I ask how much you paid for the set?
-
what state/area you in?
few guys in melbourne do it cheap and well.
my dad's landcruiser got done with 35% for $220.
and thats 9 windows
High quaility tint, his fishing rods rubbing against the windows and stuff and no scratches.
Niick, I'm in Melb and would be interested in your guy. Can you give me his details?
Thanks
-
I did as well today. It is a amazing car! Handles brilliantly and sounds superb, especially after 3500rpm. If I had the money I would be ordering one tomorrow.
By the way it was really good service from Melb City Lexus. The dealer was happy to let me give it as much as I wanted without losing my license. The spare parts and accessory guy was also really helpful. Very impressed.
