  1. Hey Mate thanks for the reply.

nice, glad i got the right oil then. i was trying to get a lexus OEM filter *cough Toyota* but i went to the local toyota spare parts and they said they dont stock them! only lexus do, and i didnt want to drive 30mins. had a long day on the road...

how much did u pay for the stock filter??

ive been to the K&N site and i saw the same thing.. so i was confused to y this guy sold me this one.. but i think the HP-1002 is for all 2litre models :S

it should matter that its longer it, just more worried about the fitting part. apparently this is the same as the Drift oil filters as well. same size. this was also next to the Ryco Filters Z418 which is specs for an is200..

hopefully it fits. if anyone has used one of these filtes, let me know, im sure someones bought a K&N lol..

    Hi there mate,

I have used the KN filters with no probs on my IS200. Actually, I've used them 3 or 4 times since I have the car.(I am a bit of a neat freak when it comes to cars) If the guy from Autobarn said it will fit, than they will fit. Not that I would trust them with my life or something but I bought my filters from there. A nice feature on this filter is that it can be screwed and unscrewed quite easy. Whn you get around doing it you will know what I am talking about. It is a pain in the back side to change it, trust me.

    Cheers.

  2. Hi

I have a 2007 Lexus RX350 bought second hand this year. It had 34,000k on the clock but hadn't been regularly serviced so I took it in straight away and was happy to pay the $680 for the service to get it up to date. However, I just took it in for a 45,000km service and it cost me $1000! Again, happy to pay this (it did include fuel flush and wheel alignment) if it is needed but how do others feel about getting their cars serviced elsewhere?

I am hesitant to do so with a prestige vehicle but if others have had success it might be worth considering.

Hi mate, I think it's totally up to you. There are some garages that do a great job at a fraction of the cost which is a plus, however there are so many out there that you don't know which is good and which is bad. Did you serviced it with Lexus Service?

Worthwhile ringing some people around and make sure they know what they are talking about. (ask different questions about cambelt or what's the best oil for your car...I know it sounds silly but someone who know theur stuff will be able to answer your questions really quick.

    Good luck.

  3. Thanks Hawk77,

I've sent my key back to UK. I suspect my key was dodgy as the boot button had been worn already! (plus the lexus service guys couldn't even clone my master on to it)

It sounds very strange that you have programmed the key to start your car but can't program it with the doors? What happens when you try to program the doors?

When I try to program the doors and so forth, the programing doesn's finish, or at the end doesn't anything. I think I will try to get into Lexus Brisbane to do it, unless you guys know a different method of how to do it.

  4. All,

I decided to got to the dealership. They tried to program the key using the copying machine they have. (transponder-to-transponder). This didn't even work!!

As you know I purchased my key from ebay (UK) and it has denso CE0123 on the back and it doesn't work!

Either the UK just have a totally different frequency to that of australian ECU? (which sounds strange because the cars should all be made in japan), or that my key has an incorrect transponder in it. (my open boot lid car icon was faded in the middle indicating it wasn't new. however the lock and unlock, looked brand new).

So I'm suspecting there could be something dodgey with my key. Has anyone had success with these Denso keys from the UK?

    Hi mate,

I've tried to reprogram both new keys but with no luck. it seems that only one of them I managed to make it work on my car but lock and unlock functions doesn't work. i can only start the car with the new one. With the other one, I couldn't do anything, however the key has a panic button on it. So, to sum up my learnings, if the key is from UK, and has the open boot button than it should work, if not, then it will not work on the Au ECU's.

Another thing though, I've had a chat with a nice chap from an car alarm company from Brisbane and he tod me that if he installs an alarm on my IS200 he could reprogramm and sincronyze the key in order to respond to lock, unlock, panic and so forth. So having said that, I think I will give this a go. Is going to cost me $300 but at least I will have an alarm and some additional stuff that comes with.

If you have any other ways it would be great if you could share it with us.

    Cheers

  5. Hi,

    I've ordered my new key.

It should take 2 weeks before delivery.

Will report on how it goes when I get it.

I do have 1 question, does the key have to be cut before you can insert it into the ignition? (I'm assuming it does)

I bought 2 keys from uk(i THINK THEY WILL WORK ON AU ECU's) and Lexus quote 500$ as well... what?

Anyway, if it's posible to reprogram the keys with no probs might as well...I will see how you guys go and then I will try mine.

  6. Hi, i am after a Legana front bumper for m IS200 if anybody is selling one or knows somebody who is could you please PM me.

Any conditon new or used as long as it is not damaged.

    Many Thanks

Hi mate, I might be able to track down one from NZ. I think they should be somewhere 750aud + Shipping costs. I've managed to get one from a guy from Sweden. I will see if I can get you another one.
