  1. I had to update from the original gear late last year, since we do about 10K each year I wanted something that was going to be safe and quiet, and not the hefty cost of the Bridgestones. Ended up getting Maxxis HT-750 Bravo's for about $260 per corner, and there is no noticeable difference in performance from the Bridgestones. Only comment is they are squeaky in car parks with the polished concrete finish. anyway, just adding a cheaper option to the list
  2. Hi Emma, For connecting your iPhone to play music, try a tape deck adapter, I've found to be way better than an FM transmitter, they cost anywhere between $20 and $40 and you can install it yourself ;) The vaistech device Poisson mentioned is the best option as it integrates with the car's audio system, but is costlier and requires proper installation something like this: http://store.apple.com/au/product/H1579ZM/A?fnode=46 your local car audio store should have them cheers Mark
  3. Presented with the same issue, and not really wanting to spend multiple hundreds of dollars (or pull apart my dash) for the amount of time we spend in the car, I went into JB HI-FI and bought a tape deck adaptor. Something like this, though it is different: http://www.amazon.com/CASSETTE-TAPE-DECK-ADAPTER-ADAPTOR/dp/B001DNTGY4 My 2006 350 has the tape deck, and it works significantly better than ANY FM transmitter and there is no static whatsoever, for $30 was the most economical way to get my music playing through the sound system
  4. very nice then Gazz! I'm off to the State's in early January so am looking to buy the gear over there cheaper than here. Had a look at the VAIS SL2Vi will set me back $599 here but US$349, or AU$380 odd. which VAIS unit did you go for? I'm looking at the SL2Vi to play audio/video from an iPhone 3GS cheers!
  5. Hi, just an update on the satnav/phone bypass. I ordered the bypass from Mark at Prestige Society and have now installed it to our RX with a great result. We now have full access to the navigation menu and phone menu whilst the vehicle is moving. Very easy installation with excellent instructions included. Took about 3 hours to install which was longer than anticipated but I was doing everything carefully. Probably the hardest part was running the cable from the DVD in the rear to the screen unit in the dash, difficult to push the cable under the door sills in a couple of spots. I also installed a VAIS ipod adaptor at the same time which I ordered from the Australian distributor in Queensland. This works very well and has the added feature of pinging the “I Agree” button on the navigation after about 5 seconds, saves touching the screen every time the car starts with the nav screen on. To anybody interested I would recommend both products. Cheers hey Gazz, I'm quite interested in getting this override product, is it a "plug and play" type system, much like the VAIS adaptor? I'm a technical person so don't hold many fears, but I don't want to hack away at cables on my RX ;)
