  1. i am considering this myself, let me know what you find out please :) i saw a manual box going for 1200 pounds in the uk, would cost quite a bit to ship it hear. i think the supra box might be an option from what i have read. Yeah supra gear box seems the way to go. Are you in NZ aswell?
  2. Hi All I am a newbie so shoot me if this question has been asked before I have a stock 2000 IS 200 it is auto and i want to convert it to a manual. How much am I looking at to get this done and what parts would I need? Also does anyone know of contacts in Wellington New Zealand that are in the know and would be able to carry this owrk out at a reasonable price? Am also looking to put a turbo or SC in once the conversion is done. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. its bucks but worth it. easiest way to go is a 2jz VVTI SINGLE turbo!!! the twins dont really fit and to get mine passed the engine mounts were offset on the front. have you got an auto or a manual is200? if manual get a vvti single turbo 1jz or a single turbo 2jz with an R154 gearbox (the 160 from the new supra doesnt fit with out some bashing) you can make the computers work together (you need both) im still having a few issues with AC trigger but im working on that this weekend if you get a 1jz make sure you find a front sump for it (get a chaser halfcut and then find a front sump and bolt on) as i needs to fit over the crossmember "whatthe" on toymods has had a really nice one in the passed making 300RWKWs in short, motor, gearbox, 1jz ecu, intercooler, mounts, front sump, swearing but leading to awesome. haha mine has a 1jz twin turbo from a JZA70 half cut - the older ones have stronger internals so if you go a single turbo setup on it will make nice power - i had to leave mine stock to get it passed in sa other wise i would have had jza70 halfcut, a haltech ecu, single turbo (gt35r), also getting hipermax II's for it soon so it will be kickass spent about $3500 (halfcut), $2000 (parts and stuff), mate helped me so it was about $1600 in labor) hope this helps! Hi all I am also new to this site and am in the same position i have a 2000 IS200 stock, Auto. I want to do a manual conversion and make it a turbo. What advice can you give me? I also dont know a huge ammount about cars. Anything would be much appreciated.
  4. Hi All I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I am from New Zealand I own a silver 2000 IS200 it is an auto sadly. At the moment I have installed a pioneer head unit 12” sound stream sub and amp, 18" avanti rims and tinted the windows. What I want to do it is a manual conversion and put a turbo in it. I need some advice around this. I want to know how much this will cost and if anyone knows of people in Wellington NZ who will be able to do this work at a reasonable price? Also do you think this is a good idea? I have seen a few turbo altezzas but not a turbo IS200 thought it would be cool. Sorry I am not very on to it when it comes to cars but I am learning. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
