  2. Well-after a very stressful week consisting of a stolen cellphone, house sale, new house purchase and joining the ranks of single men I finally am nearly back where I should be...RIGHT HERE with you lot!!

Apologies to all that have been trying to get hold of me-I can be reached on my temporary number of 027 2333 800 until my replacement Sony p900 phone arrives on Wed/Thurs.

I'm only running a skeleton internet setup at the moment-once again, all systems will be up and running as of thursday latest.

Been far too long since I caught up with you all- just checked my email and my unread box said 1048!!!(spam included,of course-if only I WAS that popular!)

    Hope you are all well,

    Regards,

    Gav. :gav:

  3. What more can i say-we've reached the 200 mark!!

Good on ya guys(ladies included of course altezza girl ;) )

Onward and upward from here-I'd like to thank all those who have contributed in any way to the building of the club,it's been a great team effort-lets keep it up!

    Respect.

  4. Leave the house this mornin, had to park the 'tezza in the driveway due to equipment i needed to store in the garage last night-and i find evidence of repetative Drive by marks down the side of my car,in the form of around a dozen eggs.

Has just taken me the better part of an hour to remove, postpone a meeting and generally calm myself down.

I do have a notion as to whom may be responsible(shore based)-and believe me,there is no worse insult than attack a man's Lexus.

Whatever happened to the nice people-is the LOC the only group who can be genuine with their respect for each others cars?

Just venting guys-but be aware that if you live on the shore to take precautions as to your parking,as it appears there is someone out there who is a tad jealous or upset at altezza owners for some reason.

    Now-lets start my day again.

    regards,

    Gav

  5. Heya Sazabi-

All I can really offer on this one is my own thoughts,as i'm unfamiliar with the actual reasons behind the over commercialisation of the mentioned branding.

We in Nz are in a middleground musically at the moment- Although Trance and hard house still flourishes with the younger clubbers it seems to be the last generation of clubgoers that have moved onto more sedate, almost commercial venues and are listening to the type of music you are talking about.

These are the people who basically firmly established the electronic music culture in NZ-around 1997-98(when Kroad in AK opened its doors to it)-now these people are 8 years older, and their music tastes have altered somewhat.

I assume that this has happened in various countries, and the M.O.S label(knowing that they have already got this market of people buying their cds)have moved with them. This group of people primarily have decent revenues to spend, which is always an incentive to change the product....

My thoughts on the Local scene is not one of it dying-just changing in form. This ties with the above paragraph, and the original H/House and trance listeners have kinda gone one of three ways.

    1) they buy the commercialised house albums, still go to more "refined" dance parties to create their own"in crowd"

2)they listen to Drum and bass/breaks and are still full on clubbers but into a more "underground" scene

3)they've dropped it all together, listen to ZM and 97.4(no offence to members that do)and frquent restaurants and cocktail bars if at all.

I don't think the scene is dying-its just that people now have a lot more choice ans selection of electronic music than a couple of years ago. This will be why M.O.S have shifted their marketing to apply to a much wider number of potential purchasers.

    Hope my thoughts may help?

open for discussion if you wish to chat further-always got time to talk tunes!!

    regards,

    Gav :gav:

  6. Well this is a new one for me also,so here we go:

I am extremely displeased that someone is attempting to use our forums for what appears to be their own personal financial gain.

I would like to enforce the fact that the Australasian LOC is a NON-Profit organisation, that holds it's strength in the quality of it's members and knowledge about these vehicles.

It is with the goodwill and open hearted advice that the club thrives-and ANY form of non-authorised attempts to gain fiscally($) from the use of these forums shall not be tolerated.

Any posts related to this issue shall be read and deleted by myself-apologies to any Genuine club members if any of their responses or concerns on this spam issue are deleted also.

Rest assured that I shall now be monitoring this type of behaviour as it is of such conduct that is of NO benefit to the goals of the LOC-or it's members.

We are a club that shares a love for our cars.Great people, great cars and a good network which can benefit us all in some way-let's keep it that way.

    Regards,

    Gavin S.

  7. I'm blown away be the support all members have been giing Matt Lai and would like to thank him for all the effort he and greeneyes have been putting into making the LOC one of the most active and helpful clubs in NZ-even tho it's still a relatively young organisation.

I've been tied up for the last couple weeks with health issues(again) and also organising and performing at the "groove in the park"music festival that was held in the Domain on Waitangi day-hence the reason i was unable to join the rest of you in the end of summer meet.

For this I apologise-but unfortunately my work(and a crowd of 40,000) people took a fair bit of organising, so I'm going to put a little something together for those members who are keen on a casual catch up on the weekend(daytime)of the 20th of Feb to try and make up for the fact i haven't been around to assist for the last couple weeks.

Much respect to all those members who are putting their time and effort into expanding the club,it's contacts, and all round good name in the car club circuit.

    Regards to all,

    gav.
