  1. Bad luck mate.

Is this the body shop that is next to the Chatswood Service Centre?

The Lexus of Chatswood service centre is in Roseville and yes they have their own smash repair right next door.

With the AMG 63, I actually do feel more get up an go compared to my F with headers/joeZ exhaust/air intake. Obviously the F makes more noise but AMG is very quick for something that heavy. I had a full load in the merc and it had no problems powering off the line.

I actually wouldn't mind am AMG now:)

  2. Ouch!

Sorry to see this adage, hope she ends up as good as before.

Thanks blacky. I've been assured its in good hands:). The lexus service guys know me by now. They know how anal I am with my car and they'll make it all better.

  3. Ouch, that's a real bummer.

Body work only or is there steering etc being replaced.

I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the ML63, nice unit.

They have yet to inspect the engine bay etc. but they mentioned they will be replacing the fenders, grill, lights etc. most will be replaced and I think they mentioned they will spray paint 1/2 the car.

ML63 is no ISF but the car is quick and has a smooth ride. It's a very nice cruising car. The gear shifts aren't as good as the ISF but still nice.

  4. Well it had to happen.

Was driving along minding my own business when some ute changed into my lane not seeing me and I slammed on my brakes and hit into him. Damage to mine looked more severe than the other party involved. The front drivers side got all banged up.

It was a good move that I got insured with lexus. It all took less than 10 mins to get a claim number and drop my car off at lexus of chatswood service centre. Car will be out of commission for about 1 month.

Joey (body specialist) went out of his way to explain the process and ran me through what needed to be done and what work will be carried out.

To top it all off he got me into a Mercedes ML63 AMG loaner until the car is fully repaired. Now that's fantastic service.

Car should be brand spanking new when it comes out of the shop.

  5. Just go to a rim repair shop.....I had all mine done here in WA and they did a great job....it was about $180 a rim including painting

Thanks for the response. I have my yearly service with the dealer this wednesday so I might just ask if they can fix it all up at the same time. At least I know it should be fairly simple to repair. Hopefully they have the tools on site to repair it and not having to send the wheel away.

Will give them a call tomorrow to confirm.

  6. Picked my car up on Thursday with the headers. Best move I made. Sure it's louder but the sound screams performance.

I can definitely feel acceleration improve.

The only thing I don't like are the stares you get from other cars due to the louder sound.

Have you found your fuel consumption is down.?

Funny you mention that. I have noticed that fuel consumption is better. Thought I was just imagining things. Is that one of the pros of getting the headers installed? Either way you get performance as well as better fuel consumption. Win win situation:)

  7. My baby booked in for next Wednesday to get the headers installed. They need the car for 2 days.

Scott mentioned that the noise should be louder at idle with the headers installed but slighty louder than if you just had the joeZ and cold air intake. Just hope it really isn't that much louder. I find my current setup already quite loud for a daily drive :).

I hope I really do notice a difference in power though:)

  8. Decided to get my isf a pamper treatment with a full interior/exterior detail. I asked them to see if they could remove a scratch/scuff mark from the drivers side interior door panel which i was fully to blame for. They mentioned on the phone that they removed the mark.

When I picked the car up this afternoon, the scratch was still there. I mentioned this to Scott who agrees that they forgot to look at this upon detailing the car.

His response: "I'll just order the entire interior drivers panel for you from Japan".

This is unbelievable service from them. I was not expecting this response fom them:). Totally awesome customer service from them yet again.

That's why I've bought 3 cars from them in 10 years and why I will buy from them in the future.

  9. What tyre pressure do all of you use for front and rear tyres.

The service dept recommends 36 & 38 psi. I can't remember whether 38 is at the front or rear. Should the high pressure be for the front tyres.

  10. Hi all

Those with a joez exhaust / cold air intake combo, have you noticed that after 3-4 months the exhaust sound seems louder. I could have sworn mine has gone louder when I slowly put the foot on the accelerator.

I took my car recently to a Lexus track day at eastern creek so I did push my car for the whole day.

I'm just wondering If this is normal or not or if it's my imagination.

I'm thinking of getting the headers installed and not sure now as it might increase the overall sound which could be too loud for me.

  11. Couldn't agree with all the positive sentiment regarding Lexus of chatswood service team especially with Sid.

I've bought 3 cars from them in the span of 12 years because of their fantastic service. I dont even bother wasting my time with other Lexus dealers when purchasing.

Sid is the goto guy If you're not happy but I've had positive experiences with them all.

    Good luck.

  12. After picking up my car up from the chatswood service centre for a post track inspection, I had chat to Sid. The ppe headers have been ordered. The first batch has been allocated to. Thank god my names assigned to this batch.

He mentioned $2000 for the headers installed. So by end of the month it'll be in my car. Can't wait.

I normally trade up my car every 3 years but having put a bit of investment in my upgrades, I might hold on to this car for longer.

  13. Totally awesome track day at eastern creek. I would definitely do this again. I never thought the car could do what it did on the track. The car was so rock solid around corners. The instructor said to accelerate hard out of the corner and thought the car would spin out but it held extremely well around corners.

It was also nice to meet you richie.

  14. On another note has anyone else had problems with squealing brakes when braking slowly? I'm still on my original pads but annoying when braking from a slow speed you hear a high pitched sound. It's definitely coming from the brakes.

It wasn't as bad last year but seems to have gotten slightly louder.

  15. Hi Malibu. Got the invite myself today as well. I might actually go for it. I want to try it at least once. Also im assuming the insurance will cover the Lexus sanctioned drive day as its with a professional driving instructor. If you bring the car privately to the track you don't get insured correct?

  16. Hi guys

When was the last time lexus of chatswood sent out invites to the F track days at eastern creek. I remember getting 2 invites last year but unfortunately couldn't make it but don't get any invites any longer.

I've asked to put my name down but haven't received a response.

I want to try at least 1 track day with them to say that I've tracked my car:)
