  2. PRICE DROP

About a year ago, I posted an EOI on the forums for the sale of my beast. I decided to keep it at the time but now it is up for sale.

Absolute faultless and the only reason for sale is to ease up cash for other investments. So it's up for sale but with a degree of reluctance and a heavy heart.

Carsales link below. I would like to see it go to an enthusiast who will look after her in the way I did. I am negotiable on price and can bring the car back to stock.

Some pictures to spice up this post.

  3. Anyone with a modified exhaust system find that their interior panels resonate and cause irritating noise at certain a certain rev range?

I run a secondary decat and installed 2 magnaflows at the rear. I didn't want any drone and basically just wanted a little bit more anger in terms of noise. After installing the magnaflows, I experienced some drone but it wasn't unbearable. In fact it sounded pretty good especially on downshifts.

However, what irritated me was the interior panels resonating. The rear interior light assembly and rear door trims vibrated so badly at about 2-3000 rpms that it sounded like the muffler was rubbing or causing the heatshields to vibrate. Initially I thought it was coming from the outside of the car but when I had a mate in the rear, he pushed and prodded some of the interior trim and found that the noises stopped.

It was so annoying that I had the magnaflows removed and went back to the stock mufflers. It just wasn't a Lexus when the interior panels vibrated and buzzed.

Just wondering whether those of you with full systems and headers have the same issues inside the car?

  4. For those of you who wanted to see what chrome looks after plastidipping, here are some pics of my Prado. I haven't hit the ISF grille yet as I haven't had time to look at how to remove the grille.

    Prado grille removal was easy...

Smoked and glossified the rear lights too. I smoked first and the glossified a week later which probably wasn't the best. The rear badges are all blackened as well.

  5. I also plastidipped my white ISF badges in the rear.

The stuff is so addictive so I masked off the front bumper and plastidipped the centre to give it the new face spindle look. Unfortunately it has taken on an evo x sort of look instead. I've left it on for now but not sure if I'll keep it on...

  6. Hi everyone

I'm undecided at this stage whether to sell or keep my ISF. There isn't really a need to sell and I'm happy to keep her. If I am offered a decent price I will let go.

My wife wants to buy another house and I can't do that and keep the ISF as well.

I bought my ISF from Lexus of Perth in March this year and have used it sparingly as I have another car.

  7. The main problem with the pod system is that it sucks up heat and you lose performance. It's great if you can seal the pod intake. In some other applications, some put the pod in the wheel well which is well shielded from heat and has great airflow. I did this with my Mazda 6 MPS and Subaru. However, one needs to be careful with the induction of water from the pod sitting so low.

In the ISF you do lose the twin stage intake if you go with a pod.

I have a Joe Z to an AFE dry filter. I disengaged the solenoid so that my twin stage is now open all the time. I love the induction noise and can't wait till 3600rpm for it to kick in. Some say that the car loses power by having the second flap open but I haven't noticed it at all and have been running this way for 6 months now. Having just changed to the AFE I've noticed a roartier induction note. It might be a placebo but to me it definitely seems to growl a lot more than with the OEM panel filter. Perhaps the Joe Z being metal reverberates more noise than a silicon or OEM intake tube.
