  1. Up for sale is a set of front and rear Lexus IS350 brakes. They are a used set with 38,800kms on them. This is the whole kit which includes the shim kits, calipers, dust shields etc etc. It is a direct bolt on into your ISX50 without any modifications. The price is $900 firm as it was significantly reduced from its previous price. Local pickup is preferred but I am able to ship interstate at the buyer's expense. Pictures will be provided to those that are interested. PM me for a contact number and further information.
  2. That's because v20 shares the same firmware as v19. It's just a map update not the firmware. Not that big of a change then perhaps. Do you know what was updated from the v19?
  3. Hey Tom welcome. The carbon build up on the these cars are not that big of an issue than initially described. I had a mate who car started idling at 400rpms due to this but after a good upper engine clean using the subaru upper engine cleaner it idled normally again. All you need to do is give your engine a good clean once a while. The build up is usually due to the direct injection mechanism in our engines. the 90k major service is just another service, however you'll need to change your spark plugs at this point. Spark plugs can be ordered for much cheaper through E910 on this forum. http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/10731-is250-90k-service-spark-plugs/ If you get brakes, sparkies, and the usual things checked out it won't cost you as much (probably around $600-$800) at 90k kms I did my spark plugs and oil by myself so it cost me significantly less. If you have any problems feel free to ask around or throw some PMs.
  4. The needle can be pulled out with with your bare hands. Just make sure your don't pull too hard and break the thing. The hard bit is putting the needle back in. There's a sweet spot where the two contacts on the needle have to align with the hole in the cluster. I've had an occasion where my needle fell off while I was driving haha. You should be able to the feel the needle going back into place once it's in. Why don't you try change your needles to the ISF blue needles while they're out already? It looks pretty good =D
  5. I have done the LED swap on my cluster but the needle I never ever touched the needle. The gap is tiny to get any solder inside to detach the LED unless you have a tiny soldering machine. Easiest way is to just swap another needle and it should work fine.
  6. Wheels sold Only the brakes left!!
  7. Overview of the car Engine Start Drive Sorry about the video on this one. The rotation came out weird.
  8. Hey firstly welcome to the club. $6,800 negotiable for a is200 sports luxury is pretty cheap considering it has only 141,000kms on it. I would firstly check the the history of the car because it could have been clocked back. Even if it has though these cars survive for a VERY long time. My mate's car has 246,000kms on it and it still runs and goes strong. Firstly I would check the dash, climate control and cluster bulbs as these cars around that age will most likely have them blown. Check if any anything has been tampered with such as engine bay seals, wheel arch guards, condition of the headlights and taillights and most importantly go for a drive to check the quality of the engine. Check power steering belts and go for a drive after the engine is warm to see if there's any noise coming from the engine bay. Also check the wear and tear of the interior as that is a good indication on whether the car is older than advertised. Although $6,800 negotiable is a very good price for a 141,000km car I would still have suspicions whether the car has been tampered with or not. Regardless, again, welcome to the club and if you have any more questions feel free to post around the forums or pm.
  9. Welcome to the club! Brand new car with headers already! Post up some pics! Haven't seen a TRD 3IS350 in Australia yet.
  10. We have a F Sport section here on the forums if you're interested. http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/12399-f-sport-parts/ My car has all the F Sport parts from the US except the exhaust, membrane brace and clutch set and I can tell you that they're really worth the upgrade.
  11. I think Chatswood installs some brands such as JoeZ for you while retaining the manufacturer's warranty. I know a few IS owners who have had aftermarket parts installed by Chatswood while still under warranty and it's all good. PPE headers, JoeZ exhaust intake and the such.
  12. Tail Lights sold Prices updated.
  13. I've got 255/35/19 on my 19" so I imagine it wouldn't be a problem You could try 225/40/18 on fronts and 255/40/18 on the rears. They are standard tyre size and should not be a problem. 245/35/18 should not be a problem either unless someone can chime in for me
  14. I thought that the standard 17" size in the rear was 245/45/17. The front is correct with 225/45/17. Standard for the 18" is correct which is 225/40/18 and 255/40/18
  15. Hey dude sorry for the late reply. I still had exams left for uni so I couldn't get back to you. Anyway here are the photos The climate control lights are a bit dull in the photo but not too bad in real life. I would recommend using halogen 5000k bulbs for a good white colour. Climate control uses a different size bulb. All necessary information can be found here http://my.is/forums/f221/how-change-your-main-gauge-cluster-ignition-ring-lights-leds-pics-359216/
  16. Or you could try the philips crystal vision http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHILIPS-H11-Crystal-Vision-4300K-with-Parking-Lights-/120785788814?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1f64df8e These are pretty much the same as the HID kits except no excess wiring, drilling holes, and they're xenon which are much better suited to the housing your headlights. The link include pictures to give you an idea of what kind of colours you may want. H4S is a different size to H11 and won't fit in your headlight housing.
  17. I'll try get a picture if I can. The climate control can also be done quite easily but getting the clock done is a bit hard. Since LEDs have a focus point where the light shines the most you'll see two white dots staring at you in the clock. Other than that the rest looks much better in white.
  18. I've done a full white conversion on my friend's 200. All you need is 3 194s and 2 24 LEDs and you should be fine. But make sure you get the wide angle uniform LEDs because most LEDs will shine forward and your cluster will look bad. The OEM bulbs like you said are just halogens with Orange covers on them.
  19. Bump. Prices lowered.
  20. http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/assets/img/extras/300x182/IS250c/wind_deflector.jpg Is this what you are looking for? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Love-the-Drive-IS250WD-Y-Wind-Deflector-Lexus-IS-250-or-350-/400500563780?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d3fb19f44&_uhb=1
  21. Yes. I believe all IS300 models in Australia came with the standard LSD. Should be able to find one from a wreck somewhere. To be honest the IS200 doesn't have enough power for it to slide anyway. You could try go for an engine conversion for more power and put an LSD in that. You could even find a wrecked IS300 somewhere and buy the whole car and convert it into yours. Just a suggestion =D
  22. The cases and housing should be the same bolt off bolt in. They're both automatic it's just that one has an LSD and one doesn't so I'm guessing that it will be a straight swap. You're looking at the OEM Torsen LSD right? It should be housed in the m98 model of the IS300 diff.
  23. The IS200 has really close gear ratios (Final drive of 4.3 I think) allowing it to stay in it's power band so it doesn't fall off in torque. That's probably why when it shifts gears it feels like it hasn't really shifted since it's always in that power band. This is probably why you think it feels like a CVT. It's also a 4spd in the auto so highway driving is going to make the revs sit really high like you've already stated. You could try and fit a lower gear ratio diff or change the ring and rod in the diff but that's about a 6-7 hour job. IS200 Gear ratios A/T = 4.3 M/T = 3.9 IS300 Gear ratios A/T = 3.909 (though some models are 3.709 if someone can correct me that will be great) My guess for the M/T IS200 is that it would have longer ratios similar to the is300. You could also try and fit the IS300 diff housing into your car for the same results. The IS300 diffs come in models m85 and m98. The m85 is the diff without LSD and the m98 has LSD. You can find a used m85 for fairly cheap (under $200) however the LSD diff is more expensive around the $600-$700 region. However, I think all the IS300s in Australia came with the LSDs... (someone please confirm) I'm not 100% sure if the diff housing across the 2 models will be the same bolt on and bolt in but some ads on eBay state that they will fit both models http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/lexus-is200-differential-rear-diff-from-a-manual-car-Australian-spec-car-/121320532293?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3f446945 You can try this link. It's from a manual is200.
