  1. Hey guys, had a conversation with the sales guy who sold me the car, and he was shocked that it didnt have the tint on.. He organised for the tint to be done today and provided me a loan car while it was being done. Once finished he drove it back to my work office and did the swap.

I am a happy customer now, but naturally when i found i had been short changed and tricked i was quite pissed off as anyone would be! This whole time i thought i had tint and didnt have any.. If i didnt organise for a mobile tinter to come out and install darker tint i would have never known, and just excepted that legal 35% tint was really crap!

Anyway's Lexus of chatswood service has been good apart from this mix up which left me quite annoying and had caused me to loose trust in them, the sales guy apologised for the error, and all is sorted now.. I just dont understand how it got to the stage of delivery without the tint as per the sale contract... oh well..

Shows that you need to double check everything these days to ensure your getting what you pay for!

Given that you are now a happy customer I think your original post is at the least highly unfair.

You should have spoken to them first before posting up accusations and slandering their business.

I would be editing it if I was you, for your own benefit and that of the forum......not sure of the course of action that could be taken if it is left up.

Especially after you then post it was "a mix up" which can happen.

Maybe next time you could do as tony1234 posted and give the benefit of the doubt.......before firing off.

Or try getting BMW to give you the service Lexus of Chatswood have.

I see your point. But the fact is, this actually happened. It's not like the OP got it wrong. Sure the dealers fixed it up, but it should of never happened in the first place. I'm not sure what you're implying about "course of action" but it negates everything you said about "short changing someone for a few hundred dollars and risk the good reputation that they have" for the sake of one poster who evidentally had a negative experience with a dealer. If the dealer wanted legal recourse over this thread, you and they are obviously "not thinking". It was all cleared up, we are all moving on.

Edit: If however, the OP got it wrong (which can happen too), that's a different story all together.

This is just the cost of running a business, you will have good days and bad days. And lets face it, Chatswood will (obviously) always have a solid fanbase

I'm glad you got it all sorted.

Whether it was intentional or not, it is not a pleasant feeling. I don't mind paying a premium price if I get a premium service and product.

Hopefully this will be brought up with their team so it doesn't happen again. Cudos to Lexus Chatswood for owing up to it, any other dealer would of just shrugged it off.

  3. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.I'd say someone has stuffed up with organising the tint.A dealer of that size and reputation would be mad to intentionally do something like that!!Make it clear that you want your car picked up(or a loan car),tinted, dropped back to you and compensation.Go them for some free services but above all don't lose it or be rude etc.I'm sure this is an oversight.Make sure though you milk it for all it's worth !!

Even if someone "stuffed up the organising" of the tint, this is pretty poor form. The customer even questioned it with the dealer.

I have heard a similar story from when they were at Artarmon(?).

My experiences have been pretty good so far. OP any updates?

  4. What about 2is-350?

Are they very hard to install?

In my younger days I was able tinker around on my old rola and civics . I just dont want to hurt my true pride and joy.

Also, i think i've nailed it down to either takeda or f-sport. I was going to get Lexus to do it for me but i think its around $750...

I noticed there is also k&n but I had huge problems with them in my subie GT with oil contaminating the AFM.

  5. Hi All,

Took delivery of a 2012 IS350 Prestige a few months ago. Absolutely loving it! :D :D

As usual, exceptional service from the team at Chatswood... was able to score a GREAT deal! (now that the 3is is here lol). Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all.

    Thanks,

    Alexis
