  1. My list is short and sweet: 1989 TP Magna - a hand me down from my dad after getting my Ps in 2000, 2001/2002 Camry v6 - run about for uni and part time work. I had a few mods on it and I owned this until 2006. 2005 - Yellow Evo IX - loved it to bits. It was in the show room at northshore Mitsu for a long time before I picked it up in 2006. It had 24km on the clock. This was my first full time job reward to myself. At the time, I was tossing up between a VW R32, R34-GTR, 200sx and number of other makes. I was specifically in the market for a turbo car at the time and STIs were too common. At present I am the proud and very happy owner of a 2012 IS350 F Sport which I picked in Oct this year. I was sad to see the Evo go. That had a lot of street cred and I used to get looks from enthusiasts even though the car was bone stock.
  2. I did a lot of research and comparing when deciding to trade up from my Evo IX and the missus insisted that it was time I grew up a little as I gave the thumbs up to every evo driver I spotted :D . I was after something that was value for money, had good reliability and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to maintain. I also wanted to something that had the performance and agility like my Evo. I was reading Lexus comparos to BMW, MB, Audi, VW and Infiniti. Bang for buck nothing came close, beside Infiniti, however there was something about Infiniti's G and M models which did not seem as appealling as the IS and the Q was too far away. Essentially it came down to a test drive and dealer customer service. I was very impressed by the customer service and the way the IS350 drove. The F-sport had subtle but menacing looks with an air of sophistication and luxury. I knew it was the one for me. The hard part for me was deciding to either wait and save for 3IS 350 F sport or get a superceded model. I decided to get a 2nd hand 2012 IS350 F-sport as I figured the extra savings could go towards hourse. My IS is my first Lexus and definitely would not be the last.
  3. Sweet! Thanks, thats something to add to the weekly shop :)
  4. Thanks mate. They are great cars aren't they? One thing I've noticed about the robustness of the interior plastic on the door and dash compared to my old evo is that in the IS, it appears to stain a lot easier. Both are black but in the IS it would appear that if I scrape my elbow on the door trim, or push the door open with the side of my knee, it leaves a white mark, like dry skin. Is it just me and I should carry a pump bottle of moisturiser in the car or it happens to others too?
  5. Hi All, I'm Ed. I'm the proud owner of a 2012 mercury grey IS350 F-Sport. This is my first Lexus and I couldn't of asked for a better introduction. I bought it a couple of months ago with 18K Km on the clock from Lexus of Newcastle. It has tinted windows, but no sun roof, which is fine by me. One less thing to worry about in the future if anything goes wrong. My previous ride was a 2005 Lancer Evo IX. I had it since new and left it 99.99% stock besides a K&N replacement filter, DBA t2 slotted rotors all round and Bendix ultimates. I was sad to let it go but it was time to grow up a little :) . I've read a couple of threads so far and I've found that to be quiet helpful and i figured it was bee a good way to learn more about the make through others' experiences. No plans for mods on the IS, but it is tempting. Mainly thinking of an F-sport intake and possibly a cat back exhaust. But one definite mod would be switching all the interior lights and welcome lights to LED. I reckon the standard globes ruins the ambiance a little. :)
