Interestingly enough I did the Redbook thing through Carsales and it says market value is $19,300 for a car like this. If no-one is buying at $17k, they sure as hell won't buy at $19,300!

Not going to go any lower now. Just need to wait for the right buyer to come along.

Have been around here for two years, enjoyed having my baby, but now the gf and I are getting a place significantly closer to work and my motorbike is all I need.

2007 IS250 X package, silver, manual, F-sport shifter, 12" sub in boot. Registered until Aug 2017 and will come with a RWC. That's pretty much the long and short of it.

Currently listed on CarSales for $17,200. Happy to negotiate if it goes to a good home.

Well there you go, fun fact for the day.

Received the letter about the air bag today too, parts becoming available early in the new year as mentioned above.

I had the first one done, mine needed the fuel pressure sensor and gasket replaced.

Haven't received the second one about the passenger airbag however.

Now there's a silver sticker in my drivers door jamb with the date of the recall and a serial number on it. I wonder what that sticker is for ...

Lexus of Brighton and Blackburn say that it has been discontinued and can no longer be ordered. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out on ebay!

On the hunt for an F-sport quickshifter for my 6MT IS250. It seems they've all disappeared off the internet and with Sewell off the bandwagon, they're hard to find.

So time for the hail mary! Does anyone here have one they haven't installed? Or know where I can get one? Help would be much appreciated!

Gathered as much. The clutch/flywheel I will deal with when they need replacing, definitely want it to stop feeling like a truck when shifting sooner rather than later however!

Yep, happened to mine. Was a result of the digitiser connections cracking due to old age. Had to pull it apart and resolder the connections but all up repair cost me $30 and 3 hours of my time.

You can also just buy a new screen/digitiser on ebay for around $120. Still pull it all apart but instead of repairing your old one, you're replacing it. Easily manageable.

I have the manual and have gotten used to it, but it is in fact terrible. I came from a 5 speed XR6 Turbo and that transmission was infinitely better then the Lexus'. Will be getting a short shifter soon so hopefully that makes it a little less clunky ...

Sounds like you've got the start of the digitiser dying problem! I had that within 6 weeks of buying my 07 IS 250X.

I followed this guide and that fixed it. The other options is to replace the screen unit entirely instead of resoldering the contact points on the digitiser.

I have an 07 IS250 X and I was considering a Prestige without the ML, and I did notice a difference particularly in the bass. I have since disconnected the stock sub and put in an amped Rockford Fosgate so it probably be similar now.

Just make sure you get the nav and camera. As small a feature as it may be, the car feels far less luxurious without it.

It will say Mark Levinson on the disk module, like this picture. If it doesn't have this there, it doesn't have ML.

I buy all my parts from the Lexus dealers in the States. They're heaps cheaper and don't treat you like a dead*BLEEP* who knows nothing about his car, particularly when you know more than them haha.

If it's six months, why waste your money? Save the cash for a motorbike the day you touch down on foreign soil :)

Mixed feelings on this. Yeah he probably should have just asked if he could have a peek under the hood, but I don't really see the harm in it. Inquisitive guy who appreciates cars. Kind of like a guy perving on your hot girlfriend, it's more a compliment. In the flipside it's not very respectful of other peoples property.

In the grand scheme things he definitely could have done much worse haha.

I used a super expensive kit in my projector retrofitted XR6T. Now I'm using the el cheapo's ($45 on ebay) and I can't notice a problem at all. I had one of the ballasts die after 4 weeks, shot an email to the seller who sent me a whole new set. Now I've got a spare ballast and two spare bulbs. Works wonders :)
