Hi manboy, as with all cars it depends on your needs and taste. We looked at a few different types before settling on the Nx, and as your wife did we loved it. Used to drive a Prius C to work most days, so the fuel use takes a bit of getting used to (we initially looked at the 300h - but ended up with 200t as it was a lot more enjoyable to drive). If power and speed etc not as much of an issue have a look at the 300h. Otherwise the 200t is a great car to drive. The car looks good, and have been stopped at lights and often get the subtle look over from the driver next to me, and that head turning ability does give you a nice feeling :) , the interior is very comfortable, love the seats, the trackpad is a bit annoying but you learn to use and live with it. The Sound system is great and the number of gadgets fun to play with . The driving - fun, though you can feel the bumps a bit more then some of the other SUVs in the category. Overall it has made the daily commute and the drive home a pleasure. No regrets about purchasing it, few niggles but there's another thread here about issues people have found with it. Any specific questions feel free to pm me. Hope your wife enjoys it :D

Kept an eye on the range recently, had range say 29km, then whittle down to 5km range left, then refuel now!!!!!
:)
Filled up and only got about 48.5L into the tank.
So based on specs still had about a 5th of the tank still there (12L).
Little annoying as would be nice to know how much i do have left in the tank and range - so now do I assume when I get down to the refuel now I have to assume I have 12L left in tank and work out how far I can get on that (about a 100km more)
Yes I can just fill up when it shows but as Mlo1956 says all a little annoying.

I get the same sometimes, think its due to the micro hybrid system :
MICRO HYBRIDAlthough not strictly a hybrid (electricity from the battery is not used to propel the car), what is more commonly known as 'Stop-Start' does enable a modest reduction in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. When the car comes to a halt, the petrol/diesel engine is shut down (at traffic lights, for example) and re-starts only when the driver activates the accelerator. The engine is instantly re-started by the alternator, which is powered by the car's battery which, in turn, receives a small boost charge from energy recouped during braking
So if a lot of electric components are running when engine due to stop - A/C radio, lights (day running lights) etc.. and haven't been breaking much coming to the stop then the battery will be too low in charge for the system to allow engine to stop. Well this is what I think , might be wrong. :)

In regards to you not being able to operate the voice commands properly try the following.
Change the name for your home phone number from "home"
Two reasons for this
One is that it makes it difficult to operate the "Go Home" command as it sounds too much like like "call home".
Also having more than one word names for phone numbers makes the voice dialling more accurate. It will work better.
Considered it but too stubborn to do something as sensible as that. :)
Have continued with practicing and it does improve, but still frustrating. Lot better recognition when using in garage, but as soon as you on road and driving looses some of its accuracy - which is kind of pointless for voice recognition on a car.
Also the navigation system has been pretty pants, the routes are often longer, and doesn't update quickly or reroute if congestion. Again for navigation and voice recognition much better to just use your phone. So raises the question why are Toyota/Lexus one of the few car manufacturers not embracing Android Auto and Apple's Carplay? An why in a premium vehicle do they have such poor infotainment system.

The fuel light came on today - and gauge said near empty, and think last I checked before that the distance left before fuel said 50km roughly. Filled up and got about 45L of petrol in to full (the fuel tank is about 60L from specs I believe).
Economy so far been averaging about 10.1L/100km. Doing a mix of Eastlink (hwy) and stop start traffic in dual carriageway to work in peak traffic. Drove to Daylesford (about 220km round trip) on hwy and testing out the engine a little on the smaller roads on the way there and back on hwy averaged about 11.2L. (a fair amount on Sports + mode).

Thought it might be useful to have a post for people to vent about any issues they've had , and list any any problems or difficulties and maybe find a solution from other's who've gone through it.
Me personally I've just had the Nx 200t a few days and love driving it. Drove it to work last few days took me to the end of the shift and that I was looking fwd to the drive home before I realised why I was in such a good mood all day at work!
Issues -
1) the Sat Nav - seemed to find slower routes then google maps on phone.
2) the voice recognition -!!!!! Arggggh!!!! Spent last two days trying to get the bloody thing to recognize "Call Home" ... going to have dreams about "Call Home... Call Home... Call Home... ... dial 5, dial 4, call Keith, Go home (when it got lucky) , call Wayne, "
Used to using the voice recognition on Google and android and so much better on that. Will try and persevere and hope it improves.
3)Reading some of the forums in Canada/USA lexus owners we in Oz seem to be missing a couple of functions on the media device.

(on a side note interesting thread on the above forum on some things I didn't know about the Nx)

That's great Kairi , congratz. That's a good deal, what colour did you get it in? How did you like the drive ?
-
Thanks Juvi,
Do you mean you ended up getting a sports luxury for $69k? That sounded like an awesome deal!
LoL I wish, no it was about 78K, and a bit more discount through the financing options with it. Overall a good deal for me at the time, esp as I wanted it pretty soon.

Got offered the Nx200t F Sport without any packs for 69K, but wait for the colour I wanted was going to be the end of July. Which isn't too bad, but wanted to get something before the EOFY. So ended up taking the offer they gave me for a sports luxury which they had delivered this week, and hopefully pick up today :)

Heehee yeah it is annoying, there is an option on settings in navigation to turn off the school and speed camera warning completely, but not to adjust for times when school should be off.
