  1. Hi, I have some aftermarket rear parking sensors fitted to my black IS250 prestige, and it just looks perfect. It is not linked to the car controls in any way but it emits a beeping nose from the boot (hidden) (and sounds just fine). They spray paint it with your car colour before they come out to install, and it just takes about 1 hour. Cost was about $500 with I thought was fine, as a scratched bumper will cost me $500 to repair. You can get front sensors too, but I didnt bother. I would highly recommend it. wasserfal - are you referring to a rear parking video camera or just a beep beep audio system? Bob
  2. Hi There, I am in the Chatswood area, and I got this problem from Sunday (5 Nov), where the car doesn't recognise the keyfob at all n my car spot in the carpark, but it works fine in other spots, especially weird as it had worked perfectly fine for 6 months prior in the same spot. It is driving me crazy, we even did a door knock around to see if any neighbors bought any new RF equipment (radios, wi-fi etc) (no unfortunately), which doesn't help to track it down. I don't understand what could be causing such strong interference that when you place the key fob right next to the door handle, that the car still cannot always 'sense' it. Also I dont think it is due to low battery on the key fob as both keys have the same problem. I have read in the manual that the car indicator screen will advise when the keyfob has a low battery. I look with keen interest with you sharing a potential solution to this problem, and see how it develops. If this continues I would think it is up to Lexus to come up with a solution, as ultimately it is one of their features used to sell the car and it isnt a feature if it doesn't work. I wonder if it is just passing interference from the sunflares or not? thanks in advance Bob
  3. Got the latest Wheels Mag yesterday, it has the Car Of The Year (COTY) feature, and the Lexus IS250 has beaten the NMW 3 series, although they still say the BMW has the better drive. Check it out!
  4. Hi, I have read a bit about the Encore program from the Lexus Aust site, but it doesn't really say what you really get specifically in NSW. I know you get roadside assistance and the loan car. What other real benefits are there? thanks Bob.
  5. Hi all, I have visited and read many of the informative posts with interest, I see there are many people who love their new IS 250. I live in Sydney and I have not see too many on the road ( I have seen about 5 in 2 mths), and my eyes light up whenever I spot a new IS250. I am serious about a purchase shortly (in the next month) and wonder if those of you who have already purchased would like to share if you got a good deal on the car. Maybe just an indication of the discounts a dealer would give on such a new car, and if the dealer offered any resistence. thanks in advance Bob
