Is300 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Hey guys im new to the forum. I just piked up a is300 y'day. I was going through trying to find the fsctory amp and came across a smp lookin thing in the boot under the carpet and the plastic thing. I diconnected one of the plugs from the thing and the driver side speaker stopped playing music. But when i unplugged the other plug it had no effect. But i was thinking that may have something to do with the navigation? Also is it possible to add a aftermarket double din to work in parallel with the navigation? Your input would be great guys! Cheers.
Gasso Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Hi the Factory amp is located to the left of the heater box when you remove the glovebox. You can recognize it from the cooling fins. It is fiddly to remove. I think (but am not sure) the unit in the boot is the navigation computer.
Is300 Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Hey thanks Gasso! Yeah i had a better look, and yeah your right. Do you know anything about an aftermarket headunit with a factory nav? Cheers.
E910 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Not sure about how you'll get on with sat nav + aftermarket headunit but you'll need one of these if you want to keep the amp http://www.metraonline.com/part/TYTO-01
