Is250 Satnav/audio/contact ( Touch Screen)

Hello all,

I have a 2008 Lexus IS250 Sports Luxury obviously it has an older version touch screen format to what the new ones would have.. I was wondering is there a way I can update my touch screen system so I have a new satnav format, new audio format and a new contact lay out so essentially I just want to update my touchscreen to the latest!!!

You mean you want to upgrade your nav to the latest 2011+ version?

As far as I know you replacing the whole navigation unit to the 2011+ one is the only answer. Unless someone can prove me otherwise. I'm not 100% sure on the price of a 2011+ nav unit. Maybe you can ask around.

To be honest the new navigation systems are a little slower than the old ones from experience. I have used both the pre 2011 navigation systems and post 2011 systems and the pre systems are slightly more responsive (especially when typing addresses into the nav unit).

This was one of the first questions I asked when I acquired my IS.. from what i gathered it's not a simple software/hardware upgrade, more needs to be done than just swapping for a 2011+ nav unit. For me it just didn't seem worth it for something that realistically i would hardly even notice. It would be much more interesting to be able to have the USB functionality that comes with the newer models.

So can you add a USB port to an older (2007 sports luxury in my case) audio system? How about upgrade the Bluetooth to support A2DP so I can play music streamed from my phone?

No but USB may be possible with an aftermarket route but your CD player wouldn't work anymore as it uses that plug
