I am planning on buying an IS200 (6cyl) in two weeks time and want to connect an iPod to the standard head unit.

Has anyone gone through this process before?

Basically, has the head unit got a line-in (say, AUX) that can be used?

If so, on the iPod end of the lead will be a 3.5m stereo plug - what’s the plug type on the head unit end? Is it dual RCA?

Thanks for your assistance.

Michael

:D :D

Other notes:

- I have an iTrip but have found it to be more annoying than its worth.

- I would like to keep the standard head unit in the car.

I was determined to keep the factory head unit and have an AUX input... After months of investigation it was much more effective to buy a mid-range aftermarket one. Not only did it give me more audio control, it also plays mp3 cds and has the desired aux input for my iPaq...

Have a look at my site (in my sig below) there's a link there to a more active New Zealand Altezza forum...

The BMW sat nav interacts with the iPod to bring your playlist up on the Sat Nav screen.

I see IS250 also has an iPOD jack. Is it as functional as the BMW?
