yvngkidbuu
Anybody done a manual conversion? In the market for a new car and love the look of the IS 300 but no manual is a bummer. Also looking at a 1j/2j swap into a IS 200 but no sure which route would be cheaper.
Cam
Will be following this thread for sure, I'm tossing up the same thing in the next 12 months.
plankton007
A W58 box will work on the IS300 with modifications. I believe you need a manual tailshaft from the 200 though... don't quote me on that. There is also a 1jz + R154 manual box package from a jzx100 chaser which should be good for most of the parts to go into a 200/300 chassis. ilv1004s
plenty of box options to chose from though the gearbox prices are not cheap R154 1.5K - 2K just for the box W55-w58 1-2K add clutch and flywheel but most of all u need to a pedal set from a MT is200 and the clutch fluid resevior as well
harchel6
any transmission from W55 to W58 would fit the IS300? W56 and W57 are easier to source. That is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance.
