Faulty fuel petrol gauge

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Long time member. Rare poster.

I have a 2018 IS300 F Sport

My petrol gauge doesn't update immediately when I pump petrol. It usually does it after a day or 2. It's not the end of the world but it does annoy me. I rang Lexus to look at it and they are saying the components are rusted or corroded, possibly due to contaminated petrol. Has this happened to anyone else?

Apparently also not covered under warranty. I'm disputing this as it's not really something I can control. I pump 98 or 95 if 98 not available. They are charging $1500 to replace it.

Thoughts and any insight appreciated
