Dealer used 20w50 in 2011 is250

Hi guys

just got my 2011 Is250 back from Melbourne City Lexus. I noticed on the invoice they used 20w-50 instead of the 5w-30 it’s had all its life up till now. When I called and asked the reasoning the technician said when they drained the old oil it was low. The car has 190,000kms. I’ve not noticed any problems with the car at all.
I’m worried the thicker oil could cause problems with the vvt or during cold starts in the Melbourne winter mornings. Anyone else experience something similar or run 20w50 in their IS?
