F_LEX Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Just wondering if anyone has ever changed the oil themselves on an IS200..?? The car is nearing the 4 year mark - so I figured its time to pull out "ye ol spanner..." whats the go with removing all the plastic underneath and I cant seem to located the oil filter... is it hidden by lexus to discourage us cheap drivers who buy nice cars but no longer need the $400.00 / 10,000k service... for an oil change and a few ticks on a sheet of paper... Dont get me wrong - Lexus does a great job every time ! Just curious to know ... joe
greeneyes Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Well, yes I've done mine, but it's a 3SGE...... Just another Toyota really, filter will be hidden somewhere under manifold, and you will prob need a hammer and screwdriver to start it turning, if you don't have the fancy gripping tool to rotate it. Mind the mess on the garage floor... keith :P
