Hi All

I am new to this forum and this is my first post.

I am from New Zealand  I own a silver 2000 IS200 it is an auto sadly. At the moment I have installed a pioneer head unit 12” sound stream sub and amp, 18" avanti rims and tinted the windows. What I want to do it is a manual conversion and put a turbo in it. I need some advice around this.

I want to know how much this will cost and if anyone knows of people in Wellington NZ who will be able to do this work at a reasonable price? Also do you think this is a good idea? I have seen a few turbo altezzas but not a turbo IS200 thought it would be cool.

Sorry I am not very on to it when it comes to cars but I am learning.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

you can turbo it all you want but you wont get much more power - most turbo 1ggfe's get about 135kw's at the wheels

if you wanna do it right drop a 1jz in it

As you are from NZ check what engine you are running, if it is the 6 cylinder 2L (1G-FE engine) as yoodles said you will not get a massive amount of power out of it without ALOT of expensive work.

However if you have the 4 cylinder 2L (3S-GE engine) then turbo'ing it is a reasonable idea.

3S-GE turbo'ed IS200/altezzas comfortably make between 200 and 250 rwkw although this is with a manual. Stock auto 3S-GEs will make around the 100-110 rwkw mark.
