dis-lex-sic
If they "red-out" the indicators then they are illegal.
Oliver Twizt
If they "red-out" the indicators then they are illegal. And technically void your insurance, since the car is no longer legally roadworthy.
dis-lex-sic
If they "red-out" the indicators then they are illegal. And technically void your insurance, Yep and being a relatively inexperienced driver you're bound to be making an insurance claim at some stage, again. So its definitely something not to risk. Atlantis
Smoked lights are probably just as illegal as the red-outs.
Terrrrry
Smoked lights are probably just as illegal as the red-outs. I never saw the appeal of smoking tail lights...if you're gonna do anything to your taillight,s just replace em with the ISF ones. Maybe matte clearcoat them - it looks sick

ken
donnot get the red outs..... i had them on my car..... still trying to argue about it it is illegal and you will have the head ache of taking a roadworthy for it and getting slapped with a 217 buck fine, if you get pulled over. not gonna be a happy thought up to you though would go with the is-f style ones for the win
k2sty1
yeh, i've gotten rid of em, gave em to my dad to put on his IS250 in korea i might be purchasing a Fujita Intake off someone from this forum soon, and not getting window tints and yeh ive heard things aobut the Fujita losing power or something, but its also the loudest intake, and right now noise is more important to me, not like im racing anyone when im on my P's, lol
LEX51S
Old thread but thought it was worth a dig. I was following a BMW rear ended on a tow truck last week... I noticed that they have "red out" indicators. but because it had been in a smash i got to see thier "secret" for an orange blink. (tails smashed) behind the red lense is a Green film of some sort (couldnt get close enough). . . . red + green with the standard "clear" globe = yellow/orange flash!!. . . . there it is... one of the rivals secrets revealed!! k2sty1
hahaha, very nice! so could you put red outs on, then have a green globe? instead of having to put a green film on the inside on the light
bluewaffle
red outs are easy to apply man.. took me 5 mins.. come over and ill stick them on.

Dunno where u would get a green globe tho.
k2sty1
yeh red outs are cool, but i already have LED IS-F lights anyway with the clear indicators so im gonna be smoking my stock lights and see how they turn out, i'll post back after i've smoke them, probably next weekend also gonna put a very very light smoke on the IS-F indicators just enough so you cant see the orange reflection of the globe inside
