  1. Heya chip - good stuff with the car, and the marriage. Hope u guys have an awesome day :P Someone did a post somewhere about using 98 octane petrol. Some selected BP and Mobile stations sell it. Which leads onto another question for others in the group - is the premium you pay for with 98 worth the extra 5c / litre over 96 ?
  2. Yo Matt, got an error message when trying to PM ya. Sent an email to you instead. Anyways, the guts of it is, yep, lets still go for the TRD grille, instead of the TOMs one. Will xfer the additional $ when you confirm all go. Cher cher, Franco :P
  3. hey bro, no problemo. I'm glad it worked out for you. It's sounds like a known problem with a known fix, maybe this should go under a troubleshoot section somewhere. Cher cher Franco
  4. Haha - dude I had this exact same problemo yesterday. I had 6 CD's loaded which were fine for a while. Then in the middle of changing from one disc to another it came up with this err. I did a bit of googlizing and found these two bits of advice (straight cut'n'paste): 1. You can reset the cd player and cause a reboot of the thing at the same time by removing the fuse marked radio1 in the fuse box under the bonnet. The radio presets should remain and the cd player will perform a reboot after which all should be ok. 2. '98 and '99 CD players give trouble. Lexus changed models after then. They ERR 3 when you put the 6th CD in, so, we only ever load 5 cds. The first part fixed the problem - it reset my CD changer, and I could hear the changer reloading the discs. After that I was able to eject them all (phew!). I don't know about the second part (only loading 5 CD's) but I am going to follow this advice until I can afford to change the headunit (maybe to a DVD player / LCD screen :) ). Anyways, when I bought my car (a fresh import just landed in the country) there were still some Japenese music CD's in the player - and there were only 5 of them. So I'm guessing this may be a common workaround. Like Matt says the best long term fix is to replace the thing. Hope this helps. Franco
  5. ok - hook me up with the TRD carbon fibre grille bro. Am penny-pinching for the bike so I'll put the filter on hold just for now. And if you could let me know how to pay you :)
  6. Hey, that TRD carbon fibre one looks sweet! Will be keen about getting one of those, plus a foam filter. Any significant difference between the different brands?
  7. Sweet. Well, I'm keen to look at getting both a filter and grille. Will probably go for another foam filter. Can you point me to pictures to see the difference between the two grilles? Will look at something soon, as the bike has gotta come first right now ! :D
  8. Who else but me? Matt :D Haha ! Ok - can you give me an idea on availability and prices? Am just considering right now, depending on costs etc. The new motorcycle purchase I'm making this week has *most* of my current attentions...
  9. Hiya guys (and gal) - another newbie here. I'm not one into getting mods done, and have very limited knowlege. For now, the only things I think want is to replace the standard grille with one of those nice looking honeycombe jobs, and put in a better air filter (HKS?). Where can I get these (new or otherwise) and roughly how much would they cost? Also, a really dumb question, but how do I identify the std air filter from a performance or aftermarket one? I installed a performance one (a sponge jobby) in my previous car (Subaru Legacy GT), replacing an obviously paper one. The one in my Altezza has something that has the standard concertina style folds but it looks more like a white fabric. Am a novice so go easy... :P
  10. nice one. Must be something in the air bro coz I just bought mine last Wednesday...1998 RS200Z. Fresh import (still had jap CD's in the CD player...?) and completely straight. HKS muffler/exhaust manifold and lowered on HKS springs. Sounds and looks racey, but more important it drives fantastic. The girlfriend has a sweet '94 Honda Integra Vtec 5 sp manual, and so she loves the Altezza too (bonus). Best of all, it's black. Haven't seen many other black ones here in WGT so I'm feeling pretty cool (so far)...yeehar ! B)
