I strongly agree with your comments about the school zone warnings and I wrote to Lexus Australia about this. Surely there is an internal clock in the car which a trainee programmer of the satnav system could test the time of day and even the day of the week and disable the school zone alerts in an appropriate manner. I would be happy for the school zone alerts to be disabled between 6pm and 6am and all day on weekends but at all other times have the alerts enabled. TO quote the reply I got back from Lexus Australia: "Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback. Every little bit helps Lexus in our continuous pursuit of perfection. I would like to confirm for you that all feedback is taken very seriously and as such yours has been passed along to the correct parties for review. Should you require anything further, please don’t hesitate to ask." Make of the reply as you will

Any Annoying Issues Or Small Problems With Your New Nx?
StephenM replied to Juvi's topic in Lexus NX Club
An annoyance of mine is the way the navigation system consistently warns me that I am approaching a school zone even when it's 10pm at night! Surely there is an internal clock in the navigation system that could be checked to see if the current time is within the hours 6pm to 6am and if so then not issue the alert. The programming could actually go further and check the day of the week to see if the current day is a weekend and not issue the school zone alert at all. Wouldn't be a major challenge for a programmer to make. -
Any Annoying Issues Or Small Problems With Your New Nx?

Does anyone know if on the HUD it's meant to display the speed zone you are in? I happen to see over over on the US NX forum someone had taken a photo of the HUD display & it showed the speed of the zone the car was travelling in. Also, isthe speed being displayed by the HUD taken from the GPS or from the traditional means used by all cars? -
I have a 2011 CT200h and periodically experience the problem where I get into my car and after my iPhone has connected to the car via Bluetooth, I find that the phone contacts and speed dials for the phone have disappeared. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon in either their CT200h or other Lexus models?

YOu could always refer the service manager at your dealer to this thread.

No, covered by warranty.

Your LEXUS dealer should be aware of this known issue and all that it requires is for them to replace the actual SATNAV DVD. When I took my car to my dealer I wasn't too hopeful that they could identify the problem but as as soon as as I described what happened they knew straight away what the fix was. If you don't have any luck with your dealer simply cally Lexus Australia customer service and complain.

I play music from my iPhone through the car's audio but I don't do it via a Bluetooth connection (only use Buetooth for the telephone connection). I use a 20cm cable from the iPhone into the USB connector and it works perfectly and the iPhone is being charged at the same time. Here's the link from where I purchased it: http://www.radtech.us/Products/procable-shortz-usb-30pin.aspx

Patrick, you can order one at the following link: http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/interior/CT200h-2011/4649.html Just a word of caution, I have heard reports that it's not entirely vibration free. Something else you might want to get is a short USB cable. I got a 20cm USB/iPhone cable at the following link: http://www.radtech.us/Products/procable-shortz-usb-30pin.aspx Cheers, Steve

As a former IS250 owner I'm not all disappointed with changing over to the CT200h. I changed from an IS250 Prestige to a CT200h Sports Luxury. Admittedly the CT200h doesn't have the power as that of the IS250 but I enjoy not having to fill-up as frequently as I used to do with the IS250 and of course the much lower fuel consumption. In my case, financially my monthly payments went down as well as my insurance premiums.

Unfortunately the ATO is happy to give you a concession on whether Luxury Car Tax is payable but they won't let you claim any extra GST input tax credit just because it's fuel efficient ... http://www.ato.gov.a...8276.htm&page=4 Generally, if you purchase a car and the price is more than the car limit, the maximum amount of GST credit you can claim is one-eleventh of that limit. For 2011-12, the maximum GST credit you can claim is $5,224 (that is, 1/11 x $57,466). This limit also applies to cars which are fuel efficient. Looks like the government slipped-in a change to the ruling for 2011/2012. Wasn't the case for 2010/2011.

One thing that comes to mind is that the digital radio signals don't operate in all areas. Maybe its because of the vastness of Australia that we don't get that option here. In buit-up Europe I would imagine that digital radio is everywhere. Mind you, if the unit offered AM/FM as well as digital then that would be a different matter. Also, how would it be installed if you have an integrated SATNAV/AUDIO system, there'd have to be a certain amount of "software" reconfiguration for the unit.

This is a known problem. The resolution is that LEXUS needs to replace the SATNAV DVD. I was having this problem and the car went in last week and had the DVD replaced.

That's really good fuel consumption. The best I can do for the type of driving I'm doing is about 6.3L/100km. Wow thats pretty high. Do you just use the standard or sports mode for majority of time? I'm trying out my below 0 theory today. Have 16Ks left. My problem is that I'm doing very short stop/start drives each day and that's what I believe is causing the high consumption. I mostly leave the car in ECO ,mode and only switch to SPORTS mode if I'm having to get up a hill. Good luck with your fuel test, hopefully you'll run out just outside a fuel station :)

Never had the guts to try it and risk getting stranded! 750km per tank is not bad I'm getting about 500km per tankful but I suspect that's because I'm doing a lot of stop/start short drives. Still waiting to get the opportunity to test out the range on a long open highway drive.

I too went from an IS200 to an IS250 and now the CT200h :D

I too downsized from an IS250, got the Sports Luxury and haven't regretted it.

It's definitely not a problem with the handsets as I've been able to verify. In fact it's the recommended way of encoding phone numbers into a handset if you're wanting to be able to make calls when overseas and not have to worry about remembering what the local international access code is depending on what country you're in. By the way, how can +61 be a landline standard when the basic telephone does not even have a "+" key on it. The problem is within the software in the Lexus. When I get a chance I'm going to test out how things work in a friend's Mercedes and see if it has the same issue.
-
You have to think why it is the humble Ford Focus being advertised on TV lately shows extensive use of voice commands but yet Lexus has disabled this feature for the Australian market.
-
In my phone all my numbers are prefixed with +61 (allows me to easily call them when overseas) and have been downloaded into my car's contact file. The problem I'm having is that when I receive a call in the car whilst my phone is bluetooth-connected from someone who's number is stored in the car's contacts file in the above format it does not show on the car's display screen who the caller is. If I edit the phone contact and change it to the regular 04...... or 02...... etc the incoming call is correctly identified. My phone carrier is Optus but I've been able to prove that it's not a carrier issue nor an issue with my phone. When not connected to my car, incoming calls from a contact stored on my phone are correctly identified regardless of the format used. Has anyone else noticed this? It should be easy to test out. Manually enter a contact into the car's contact file using the +61 format (use you're partner's number or home number) and have the contact call you while the phone is connected to the car and see if it displays the name of the stored user.

I'd be interested in knowing what your daily travel pattern involves. For the most part of the week I'm doing very short journeys (maybe 5-6km per day) and the best I'm getting is 6.7L/100km in Eco mode.
-
Does anyone know why the Voice Command system on the Australian CT200h model only works for phone calls and doesn't provide for the other functions such as being able to input other commands such as for audio and navigation commands? Check page 51 at the following link Navigation Manual and you'll see what I mean.

What seems illogical is that there are 4 sensors on the rear bar even though there is a reversing camera. When reverse parking I don't even take notice of the sensors, I'm always looking at the camera to see how close I can get to the car behind. I'm not too worried if additional sensors at the front can't be integrated with the park-assist (although it ought to be possible) I just want some alert to indicate I'm up close to the car in front. I'd love a forward looking camera so that I check on the closeness to the car in front especially if it might have a tow-bar fitted :)
-
I have exactly the same spec car as you and I have to agree that it definitely needs to have the two inner sensors on the front bar for eactly the same reasons as you've quoted. I used to have an IS250 with after-market front parking sensors and it had the 4 sensors on the front bar. I've also noticed on a GS which I believe has a park-assist feature that it too has 4 front bar sensors. I haven't as yet gotten around to speaking to the dealer to find out if additional front sensors can be installed with the park-assist feature but if you do get a response back please post it here. One thing that puzzles me is why when you have a reversing camera installed do you need have rear parking sensors installed? I suppose the two outer sensors might detect objects out of view of the camera but given recent tragic events with kids being reversed over I suppose it doesn't hurt to have the extra warning.
